Trump seems to have some weird fascination with Hannibal Leichter, yet is concerned about Haitians supposedly eating dogs and cats. Maybe it's Trump's culinary preferences we should be more concerned with. Pass the fava beans, please.
"State's Rights" is a euphemism for "Anti-Federalism" Prior to the Revolution, the individual colonies, while ultimately under the control of the Crown, were permitted to act autonomously. Some people believed that they should return to that after the British had been defeated. The "Anti-Federalists" Others believed that the strong central government should supersede the will of the individual States. The "Federalists" This argument raged for 70 years after the Revolution culminating in the Civil War. Guess what ? The "Federalists" won. Now for some 150 years disgruntled Confederates, for the most part, don't want to accept the outcome, and keep yammering about "State's Rights" And they claim Trump is hard headed about accepting defeat..
>You know, just so long as you don’t mean “pro-choice” in the same way that anyone has used it in the last 50 odd years.
FAKE NEWS! Many people used the phrase "pro-choice" in this manner at the 2012 RNC, as documented by Samantha Bee. Bee asked Republican delegates how they could nominate Romney, who believes in banning abortion with some exceptions, while approving a party platform that calls for banning all abortion without exception. Every damn one of the delegates said some variation of "We can't FORCE Romney to support our platform on abortion: it's his choice! Because we're the party of freedom!"
Well, honestly he means that his constituents can have abortions and STFU about it already! No more talk about women dying from lack of health care and what not (waves hands vaguely). We’re fine, everything is fine, how about you?
So "let the states decide" means throwing up every half-cocked impediment to actually letting the VOTERS decide on an amendment to a state constitution to secure abortion rights? Or do you mean only allowing white Xtian males over 50 making the decision around that?
What this means is that the State chooses to let the woman either die or almost die in the hope that a smidge of fetal tissue will miraculously heal itself in the womb before the woman succumbs to septic shock and dies. That is really what they want but they won't tell you hoping you won't count all the women who died from lack of care while they were pregnant. We need to have a public count like the clock in Times Square.
Thanks for outing this forced-birth creeper, Robyn! I only hope enough voters in his district understand the issue and vote for women's lives.
Disingenuous asshats all.
We haven’t heard from the Retroactive Abortion Coalition.
What he means is men can have all the abortions they want, women can't have any at all. The fair and balance pro-choice option.

JD Vance openly admits they make shit up and people should be cool with it. Unbelievable
As the goose said, "states' rights to do WHAT, motherfucker?"
Right before he was slaughtered and eaten by a group of hungry Haitians. The foie gras was particularly good!

A shit sandwich is still a shit sandwich even if they wrap it up in States Rights

Lying liars.
Um, fully cocked-up impediments, thanks.
Ta, Robyn.

I agree. A public clock in Times Square is a great idea. Hopefully there's somebody with a ton of money who cold pay for it.
Ive missed Mandy Patinkin since we moved over here to substack.
"I believe the president [Trump] is functionally pro-choice".
Translation: Donald Trump supports abortions for HIS mistresses.
