I was afraid of this. States like Texas, Ohio, and Kentucky will attempt to maintain restrictions on elective procedures (as long as those include abortion) long after any danger of resource shortages are past. The anti-choice loons will view it as a welcome further toehold in the effort to ban abortion and fight to maintain it.

The courts will eventually decide at the cost of unnecessary suffering in the interim and may result in a Supreme Court test of RvW.

The money and effort spent in trying to overturn these restrictions could have been put to much better use.

May be time to consider state-mandated paternity liens on the responsible parties for the maintenance of forced-birth children, but the chance of the GOP going for that is vanishingly small.

This is ugly, abusive, and above all, immensely stupid.
