Dem leaders always campaign for the incumbent. Primaries are easier to win than generals. The only thing we know about the incumbent is that they can win the district.

And it is a good thing because Dems should not piss away a House majority in the face of fascism to support challengers that can not take on an incumbent in a damn primary - which is hella easier than the general. I find her odious, but she is a Dem and she can win her district. Not backing her would be bad policy and bad politics.
Jessica Cisneros couldn’t have won a general election. It’s a traditionally conservative, Democratic Latino district. (Plus, she was sleeping with her former teacher, a married man.) Now with this, in Texas… we’ll probably lose this goddamn seat.
