"Which is not the law, and would sure seem to risk the Fourth Amendment meeting up with the Second Amendment at somebody’s house sooner or later."

Fourth says you can't.

Second says you shouldn't.

It is not entirely unreasonable to suppose that, sooner or later, the Gestapo (because let's face it, that's EXACTLY who and what they are) is going to encounter ACTUAL gang members, who do not WISH to be "disappeared" to an extermination camp (because let's face it, that's EXACTLY what that is).

There are several ways in which they might express that unwillingness.

"Because it is hard to get witnesses or victims to show up for court if they could be arrested when they show up!"

`

Not a lawyer here (nor do I play one on TV), so if anyone who *is* a lawyer can clarify, I'd appreciate it.

Has this ever been done before? Is it actually illegal, or sort of a faux pas, or just so bizarre that it's never occurred to anyone?

Setting aside, for the moment, the obvious racism, xenophobia, cruelty, and disregard for the separation of powers...

Supposing for the sake of argument that Wayne Lee Ray Williams, a white Anglo-Saxon Protestant living in a red state, had a warrant out for his arrest for robbing a Piggly Wiggly in March, and another, separate, warrant for DUI in April.

Could the cops show up during his robbery trial, arrest him for the DUI charges, cuff him, and drag him off to jail?

I can't imagine that this would be proper procedure; it seems like it would be obstruction of justice at the very least.

Bondi is a corrupt bitch drunk with power.

The judges she describes as "deranged" are merely trying to resist - according to U.S. law and the U.S. constitution - a president who seems to think that legal is whatever he says it is, constitutional is whatever he says it is, and treason is whatever he says it is.

I know who looks and sounds deranged. It ain't the judges.

That last statement. They're going to pull this unmarked, masked Men In Black bullshit, and someone who's been brain poisoned by Fox News is going to grab their piece and fire as soon as they come through the door.

I've often wondered if ICE would act with such impunity if they thought their lives might actually be at risk.

Another OT and bare faced obvious

" Media trust was broadly low — in part thanks to decades of attack from the political right — but where it was lowest, support for Trump was highest."

So how to get people to trust media besides Fox again? I don't know either.

OT But something I just ran across:

"When you hear his supporters praise his (Trump's) straightforwardness, this is what they are referring to: He says the false things with which they agree."

I think that's nicely put.

Oh and PS, a secret memo dispatched by Bondi on March 14 also instructed ICE agents that they do not need a warrant to search residences any more.

This goes right back to the beginning of the 4th Amendment in American jurisprudence and the English Common Law.

In BOYD v. UNITED STATES,116 U.S. 616 (1886), the Supreme Court traced the origins of the 4th Amendment and the need for a legal warrant to search a residence or to arrest a person. The fundamental case cited in Boyd was, Entick v. Carrington and Three Other King's Messengers, 19 Howell's State Trials, 1029 (1765).

In Entick, the British Secretary of State ordered Carrington and his men to make a warrantless search of Entick's home looking for libelous publications. The house was ransacked, and the evidence of Entick's illegal publications were seized and Entick was found guilty of seditious libel. The charges were thrown out on appeal because the Secretary of State, who is not a judicial officer, had no authority to order the search of Entick's house and the seizure of his property.

Now we will see if the US Supreme Court still has the backbone that Justice Howell did back in 1765, and order the arrest of Pam Bondii who is currently cos playing the role of the Attorney General of the United States.

You know what else really gets my blood pounding, and not in my down-theres? Things like this, which further reenforce the "no badge, no papers, no fukkin way" approach to ICE moving forward.

Apparently, there is also a cottage industry selling Police style ICE windbreakers. What could possibly go right?
