75 years ago today, Marian Anderson gave a concert at the Lincoln Memorial, after being snubbed by the Daughters of the American Revolution, who would not allow black performers at their Constitution Hall.
My family history would make me eligible to belong to the DAR, but I never tried to join out of protest to their overt racism. Well that and the whole having a penis issue.
I would also like to point out that Eleanor Roosevelt was the real racist in this whole thing for making such a big to-do over the DAR's racism.
