Michigan uses old fashion paper ballots where you fill in a circle next to the candidate you are voting for. The ballots are feed into a tabulator but still exist if there is need for a hand count to confirm the tabulator. It avoids claims that "the machine" is changing votes.
There's still a machine, and it could still change votes. That's why there are risk-limiting audits, which involve partial hand-counts. The Hursti hack (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hursti_Hack) demonstrated this nearly twenty years ago. So people can still make the claim, but paper ballots allow the claim to be checked.
Woke up today glanced at my phone and saw there was featured an opinion piece from Newsweek by a rep Biggs from AZ? Is he in the competition for DMOTI? His opinion sounded like a lot of the dopier letters to the editor in our local newspaper.
I got all enraged and worried but that has been resolved by the hubster and I getting our voting done and then picking up my sister and getting her to her polling place. Done, done and done. 3 votes for the only sensible person running for president!
