Yeah, because having Lincoln's desk stashed away somewhere is totally the same as a Garden of Evil and putting Hitler's paintings on the living room wall.

Surely a Texas real estate billionaire would not harbor Nazi sympathies, perish the thought!

Okay, I sent this as an e-mail, but now I'm going to copy it here, even though it's too late in the day for it to be seen:

This question of whether he loves democracy or despotism could be solved easily and quickly: How does he rule the workers at the companies he owns? Since he's such a lover of democracy and a hater of autocracy, he must allow the employees to vote on the employee policies, right? He would never require overtime, just ask for volunteers, right? The crew on his yacht all get a vote (one vote equal to Harlan's vote) on the next destination, right? Because if he orders people around when he has influence over them, that's not looking for the "but he just loves democracy" hypothesis. Oh, but I'm sure he's the one billionaire who runs his companies with slavish devotion to the principles of freedom and democracy. How could it be otherwise?

And another Nazi memorabilia collector: Ralph Engelstad, casino owner and benefactor/namesake of the U of North Dakota hockey arena (and whom my dad knew in high school). Apparently he sold off his Hitler stash; wonder if Crow bought any?https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Monticello was abandoned and left to rot at one point. Thomas Jefferson couldn't give it away. A women's club in Charlottesville took up collections and preserved it.

I don't give a fuck how friendly they are to each other. Thomas failed to disclose these gifts was a crime, and his explanation that he didn't know he should is bullshit. I worked for a state agency for 32 years, and we regularly had ethics classes on gifts.

Indict the motherfucker.
