Harry Reid To Kick Trump In Balls One More Time Before He Goes
Who misses Harry Reid? WE ALL DO.
Toward the end of the 2016 election season, Harry Reid, who was then the minority leader in the Senate, was one of the only people raising hell about the fact the FBI wasn't doing anything about Russian interference in the presidential election, which was ongoing, because James Comey was too busy throwing jizzy kisses at the GOP-led House of Representatives about HILLARY'S FUCKING EMAILS. And that's not all Reid was raising hell about either! He stood on the Senate floor and called Trump a "human leech" and a "con artist" and a "spoiled brat," and also he called him a very chunky person. And he said Trump isn't as rich as he pretends to be.
Barely a month after the election, Reid was saying out loud that he was 100 percent certain the Trump campaign did NO COLLUSION with Russia to steal the White House. And then he retired and went back to Nevada, and sadly we don't hear much from him anymore, and according to the New York Times interview we're about to make you read, we probably won't be hearing anything from him in a short while, because his pancreatic cancer is really bad and he probably doesn't have much time left.
So, is this a parting interview? We don't know. But you should definitely go read his thoughts and perhaps wish he had stuck around instead of leaving us with Chuck Schumer. But then you will take back that wish immediately because according to his former chief of staff, the cancer probably would have taken him faster if he was still in the Senate during the reign of Trump.
Speaking of Trump, Reid has more thoughts:
"Trump is an interesting person. He is not immoral but is amoral. Amoral is when you shoot someone in the head, it doesn't make a difference. No conscience." There was a hint of grudging respect in Reid's tone, which he seemed to catch and correct. "I think he is without question the worst president we've ever had," he said. "We've had some bad ones, and there's not even a close second to him."
It's true, Trump never passed any judgment on whether it would be a good thing or a bad thing if he shot somebody in the middle of Fifth Avenue, or qualified the statement by saying "not that I would ever do that" or "not that there's anything wrong with that." That's how A-M-O-R-A-L works.
Does Reid feel bad about blowing the filibuster to smithereens in 2013, considering what's happening now with Trump in power and Republicans controlling the Senate and credibly accused sexual predators and Neil Gorsuch getting confirmed to the Supreme Court and one million more Trump nominees being confirmed to the federal bench, potentially reshaping the judiciary for generations and forcing the thoughts, prayers, bigotry and misogyny of white men who will soon die of natural causes on undeserving Americans for years to come? Nope.
"They can say what they want," he told me. "We had over 100 judges that we couldn't get approved, so I had no choice. Either Obama's presidency would be a joke or Obama's presidency would be one of fruition."
Meh, damned if he did, damned if he didn't, we guess.
And how does Reid feel about how Chuck Schumer has done in his absence? He has thoughts, but he's not telling.
He has told confidants that he felt Schumer was too eager to assume his job before Reid was ready to leave. Reid has also criticized, privately, Schumer's instinct for accommodation with both McConnell and Trump.
In our conversation, Reid seemed incapable of not constantly reminding me that he did not wish to talk about Schumer, as if this itself was something he wanted me to emphasize. "I do not call Schumer," he told me. Then: "I call him once in a while — not weekly. Let's say monthly I may call him."
They've never met, OK? Maybe they recognize each other from their old people shuffleboard group, but Harry Reid does not like KNOW HIM know him! THEY WERE ON A BREAK!
This sounded straightforward enough until he added: "I talk to Nancy often. I love Nancy Pelosi. We did so many good things, and we still talk about that."
What Harry Reid is saying is that on a scale of one to "Nancy Pelosi," his relationship with Chuck Schumer is a negative infinity, not that anybody's counting.
How does Reid feel about the way Trump has treated people who were supposedly on his side , like Jeff Sessions and John Kelly?
"Why in the hell didn't Sessions leave?" he said. "Same with Kelly," referring to the departing chief of staff, John Kelly. "I'd say, 'Go screw yourself.' I could not look my children in the eye."
No decent human could. (Looking at you, Mick Mulvaney.)
Anyway, like we said, it's a good interview, and you should go read it, unless you don't want to, in which case we're not your real dad. (Yes we are.)

Optimus Quail had nothing to do with that.
Trump doesn't drink, though. Canada Man would have gotten a better reception if he had brought him two Big Macs.
