..Did you know felons can own black powder weapons? That you can get them MAILED to you? That's how not seriously the US takes black powder weapons. And, yes, they take forever to load, cold. But you can pre-load a six-shooter and additional extra barrels. An experienced user can change barrels in about a minute or two.

That is correct. Teabaggers love to point to the Swiss as a nation armed to the teeth, but the fact is that everyone not on active training or duty, though possessing impressive firearms, have all their ammo stored at the local base.
I don't think the NRA has that much pull here. I could be wrong about that, but Hawaii has some of the toughest gun laws in the country. As a non-gun owner, I have to get a permit just to get a firearm permit. They really don't like gun shooty things here.
