For years now, staffing has been so thin that when you go on vacation or otherwise miss work, the ONLY things that get done in your absence are what absolutely HAS to get done. All the rest of your work is piled up on your desk waiting for your return.
Even worse, what DID get done wasn’t documented, so you spend most of your first day back calling people to ask “Did someone take care of this for you?” and closing out paperwork.
I retired back in 2019, but I’m fairly certain this hasn’t changed much in the last half-dozen years. How about it, workers? Still getting fucked when you take time off?
