This will be great if they want an untraceable currency to finance various illegal activities. Pretty much what we would expect from criminal fascists and oligarchs.
Cynthia Lummox braying like a jackass will, I hope, be the death of this scheme. But that is a fond (in the original meaning, foolish) hope. Because when these "small government" morons get onto a plan enlarge government to serve themselves and their donor-masters, it's Yee Haw all the way to the Mint.
If you're curious or a masochist, you can read the crypto-bros whiney-ass screed about how the "banks are mean to them" because they won't handle their bank accounts. Well, douchebags, if your whole cryptocurrency industry wasn't RIFE WITH FRAUD, maybe you'd be treated better than drug dealers.
Trumpler, epic pathologically-lying grifter, king of debt and bankruptcies almost back to the Oval where the white-hot running of America’s economy right into a wall will commence soon enough.
Give the oily orange BS artist and his fully corrupted thieving new pals a drop more time, just enough to gallop into America’s coffers elbow deep. Half-second after 12 noon on 1/20/2025 the shit show begins.
So, quick point of reference, Bitcoin actually is able to be tracked though it is quite intensive in the resources it takes to do so (time, manpower, compute). Also the government has waaaaay more Bitcoin than just what they confiscated from Ulbricht as I'm sure all of you fine people know.
As you may not know, they got three of them from me alone when they confiscated coin.mx in 2016 because the owners were laundering money and I was an idiot and didn't research the exchange. Bitcoin was back under $1000 at the time after a crash. There's still no use case for it outside of buying drugs, but damn it's crazy to think that I theoretically would have a retirement savings on those three bitcoins alone.
I have never fully understood the blockchain but crypto has always made me suspicious. When regular Joe's were saying that they wanted to invest I quickly cautioned them that something was not right. Too many people have lost their butts due to scams with these people so avoid this "wealth strategy" like the plague.
I occasionally kick myself for not buying Bitcoin when it came out (techie, I was aware of it pretty early, when it was dirt cheap), but even if I had I'm sure I'd have dumped it long ago for a 10x profit or something.
I didn't buy it because I said to myself "this is just a scam," and if I'd bought it I'd have sold because "gotta get out before people realize it's just a scam."
This is why I'm not a billionaire - I look at sleazy investments and think "nobody's stupid enough to buy that shit" and I'm proven wrong over and over and over again. The lesson is, people ARE stupid enough to buy ... anything (cf Trump branded junk products).
You are not alone. My sentiments exactly. Also, the fact that we are hindered by a conscience and a set of morals may have contributed to us not becoming billionaires.

Oh, the huge amount of stupid...so much stupid it burns!
Best thing about Bitcoin is it's easy to steal. Otherwise, it's a great idea.

Regardless of her stance on bitcoin, Cynthia Loomis is the trans I would be afraid of in a bathroom.

Nobody will ever convince me that bitcoin, cryptocurrency or any thing similar, are anything other than legal methods of theft by deception.

Ta, Marcie. I like Chris Hayes; I even read one of his books. However, I am NOT watching that video.
It is yet another grift, by the grifter and chief.
Bitcoin, God's gift to the dim.
