A well-written, well-explained explanation of the issue, that will fly right over the heads of those who need to read it.

That is not the audience.

The audience is the rest of us, who live with those people, so we can explain it to them. It is our task to step up.

Don't these idiots realize that it's already illegal to kill living babies? It's called 'murder', and almost every human society in existence has very strong laws and social taboos against it. If any of them are living in a place that doesn't have such laws, I would imagine that they have much more serious things to worry about than whether or not random strangers are getting abortions.

Ta, Robyn. Nothing works the way they say it does, and they leave so much wreckage behind. They're breaking women and girls with their BS.

Pete Buttigieg's response to Fox's Chris Wallace on late-term abortions is eloquent, compassionate and based in reality: "'If it's that late in your pregnancy, then almost by definition, you've been expecting to carry it to term,' he said. 'We're talking about women who have perhaps chosen a name, women who have purchased a crib, families that then get the most devastating medical news of their lifetime, something about the health or the life of the mother or viability of the pregnancy, that forces them to make an impossible, unthinkable choice.'"

Puccini isn’t available to send a cease-and-desist letter, but I’m a big opera queen. I’m fully qualified to say this is all unacceptable.

Well written! "They actively do not care if people who could survive die because they couldn’t afford medical treatment, but they want babies with no chance of survival kept alive by any means possible until their bodies give out and they die on a respirator. Nice people!"

And who should decide whether a fetus is likely to survive "life saving care"? A bunch of politicians thousands of miles away or the doctor on the spot? I'mma go with the doc.

Grrr, and the more I think about this the madder I get. They are trying to create and maintain the image that people are killing babies when they have an abortion. Perfectly formed adorable bouncy little happy babies are being thrown in the trash. Anyone with a shred of awareness knows that is not true. A late term abortion is almost always a chapter in a sad, sad story involving illness and damage.

Jizzy Divan knows he's free to spread this blood libel because of Murc's Law. There aren't going to be deep, corrective dives into the law like this article generally in the MSM. So we just have to keep noting that Republicans supporting this genocidal ticket are liars and they're all doing it to protect their fascist mob-boss from accountability.

Use your most powerful tool against them. It is past the 30-day deadline in some states, but there are some states with closer deadlines. But make sure you are registered early as possible.

I tried to write a comment to this, but I started to tear up at work and I'm not going to dishonor the time it took me to put on mascara this morning just to talk about how angry I am at these people.

Women hold the power of life, and the christofascists can't stand it. It's OK to kill a child or anyone by gun, if you're a man, however.

Democratic trifecta. Encode Roe v. Wade. Make the fuckers fight it, and expose them for what they are. It's the only way to go.

The standard of care for a newborn with a congenital condition that is incompatible with life is, as noted, palliative care UNLESS the parents opt for more aggressive treatment. They're the ones who have the final word, in consultation with their doctor.

So this whole mishegoss is made up of whole cloth.

Yesterday I took my car to the dealer for routine service and Planned Parenthood is on my route. I could go a different way for better traffic but every time I go back and forth I give the anti zealots on the sidewalk the finger. When I was poorer and younger PP was my health care clinic for yearly exams.

Anti-abortion loons claim that we've pushed the threshold of viability down to 19 weeks. That simply is not true. Since a fetus's lungs are not fully operational until the 22th week, the absolute rock-bottom for viability is... 22 weeks. Earlier than that, a neonate's chance of survival drops off steeply. And even if a premature neonate survives, the probability of living with significant health problems is high. Also, the extraordinary measures to keep neonates with serious birth defects can cause excruciating pain, and are almost always futile. Better to give palliative care to them and allow them to peacefully pass away.

It's more like 36-37 weeks for the fetus's lungs to be ready to breathe on their own. At 22 weeks, you'll need to provide ventilation to the neonate.

Speaking as the father of a NICU graduate who had a 13 percent chance of survival, I wouldn’t wish the horrors I’ve seen on anybody. If there’s a Hell, those people are going there.
