I’m a proud member of the union for govt employees. Joined my first day of employment. My grandfather and uncles were in unions and I’m very proud to continue the tradition.
It reminds me a lot of Bill Clinton's first campaign. I was in college, and the energy surrounding that race was so positive, so exciting and fun. This is like an extension of that energy - the optimism and enthusiasm and FUN!!
People normally just don't self-organize into a large group for no reason. Usually it is for self-protection (don't get me started on book clubs) against threats to their safety. Historically Unions exist for important reasons, those reasons still are true today, thus we still need Unions. You'll note I did not mention Capitalism, for reasons.
Where has this Walz guy been all my life? I love him.
My parents were both life-long union members, and it was the most normal thing in the world, no odder than getting a library card, or going to public school. Now I have to listen to my middle-of-the-road nonprofit employer make insinuations about how sinister unions are.
I was a card-carrying WSNA member throughout my more than 22 years wearing scrubs. As a proud Union RN I have gone to meetings, met with nursing administration, gone on strike and walked a picket line. Every moment of my time was well spent and any associated blood, sweat and tears were worth every it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
My sister was the union rep for whatever union represents lab workers at universities - biomed labs. She was also the lab manager ( a PERFECT job for her). he boss had kind of a thing for feet if ya know what I mean. Her feet in particular. Anyways. She were there doing some work on the weekend and she noticed the boss's wife hauling off paper towels, bathroom 'tissue', and hand towels for her own use at home. This is WRONG. It could get my sister in trouble for ordering too much stuff. So she had a little talk when the boss on Monday - "tell your wife not to do that. I've caught her doing it twice now. I could get in a lot of trouble:.
"OMG She did that? OMG I"m so sorry. So sorry. What do you want me to do? Kiss your feet? I'll kiss your feet to show you how sorry I am"
"I don't think that will be necessary. Just tell her to knock it off"
What's it stand for? Don't afsc me!
I respected President Obama, but I actually love President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Tim Walz.
Ta, Dok. Solidarity forever.
Trump's Project 2025. A Raw Deal for America.
The Republican plan to screw the middle class.
The Republican plan to screw everyone but himself.
Yeah a few would skate by for awhile but the only person who matters to Trump is Trump.

I love that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are making campaigning fun again.

Thank Crom to whomever keeps the "we're mother f*g AFSCME" parody alive.
I never get tired of seeing that video.
I could potentially live off this + Tim Walz fixed your bicycle memes.
I am a woman of simple needs.
Aren't these people all the "Trump Term Two Day One Fired" government people that actually make our government(s) function?
The people who smart politicians leave alone if they want to look good.
Walz needs to do a speech for couch manufacturers and / or sellers

A lifetime of being indoctrinated into the mysteries of Crapitalism will do that to ya.
DH is a member of NTEU, (National Treasury Employees Union.) I wonder if the USSS is in that union.
I'm currently the stay at home parent. which rather sucks for my brain, so I am the management around here.
I NEED a Tim Walz/Norma Rae video

Union STRONG!
Good for you! When I was a nurse RNs were paid less than supermarket baggers. The baggers had a union. Eventually so did the nurses.
