Ta, Dok. I read the WaPo article during lunch hour, after I did a hurting client a solid that made him smile. Besmirch statements, yes indeedy.

It's like the hard right version of Bern It Down, from hell.

"supported the elimination of institutions including the Ivy League, the FBI, Fairfax County Public Schools"

Tell me you're a Wingnut living in The Defense Corridor VA without using those words.

I will say the Authoritarian Right has gotten a bit more subtle about their intentions. Back in the day,

Crossing the Rubicon used to be a sight; calvary, chariots, soldiers, shields shining, spears and swords waving, banners flying, drums pounding. Made Roman Senators immediately call an Uber and leave their wives and families behind. Maybe take a girlfriend or two along.

Today they put out books so they keep the NYT book reviewers busy and advertising to peddle them so Madison Ave ditto. But not at all as exciting for the city boys and country boys they will need to fight the actual battles.

The Fairfax County School District? They want people to die AGAINST that?

At least in the Oldyn Days men would die for wine, bread and women.

AP Biology not so much.

"Dr."? Roberts ? Elitist much?

Original cover reminds me of a black metal CD my friend bought in 9th grade that was called Fire Starter and actually did come with a match in the jewel case

I attended Fairfax County Public Schools but I'm not in the elite ruling class— where did I go wrong?

Probably by picking your parents poorly.

"When I said 'burn it all to the ground' I was making a rhetorical reference to the Jackson 5 hit that invited dancers to 'shake your body down to the ground,' which suggests more of a party atmosphere than a fascist takeover..."

If I did that once now, I would be in the ER for 3 days.

Holy smoke! Hey, asshole, even the RADICAL LEFT can read. I don't read a book and then let some loser "define" it for me. Your work speaks for itself and if you don't like the way people respond to that, that's a you problem.

"... byline fell off." Doctor Zoom is an old byline! OLDs "fall." They are unsteady, have balance problems, especially when they first stand up, get out of bed, &c. OLD doctors fall, too, and they are the worst; they have no empathy for fellow OLDS. They are like reformed smokers, always ragging about "second-hand smoke" and so on and so forth.

Nobody reads bylines anyway.

The boy scouts and a random school board are the "elites" now? Fuck, they are so out of policy ideas they're just culture warring anything these days.

Expand full comment

They moved on that school district like a bitch. They tried to take it furniture shopping but they didn't get anywhere so they tried putting their moves on the Boy Scouts because they had an itch that just needed to be scratched.

"We should have — figuratively speaking — punched back. Lesson learned.”

-

I'm so sorry to break it to you, Kevin, but real lesson to learn here is do as your leader says. And it doesn't seem that you have learned that lesson yet. If you had "punched back", and defended Project 2025 to the MSM, you would have defied your Dearest Leader's wishes, and your punishment would have been banishment and shunning (you would have wished you'd been cancelled) from anything having to do with Dearest Leader. Dearest Leader would have publicly trashed your Beloved Heritage Foundation without hesitation, called for your firing (which would be done immediately), and every powerful person that your called "friend," would stop replying to your messages on the orders from Dearest Leader. All because your Dearest Leader wants to WIN this election, and he doesn't CARE how he wins, and will get rid on anyone who stands in his way. That includes you, Kevin, you are expendable in his universe, and don't you forget it.
