Kansas Republicans are very Reasonable People. How reasonable are they? They stripped out of their superfly abortion bill language that would have barred women who work at abortion providers' from volunteering at their children's schools. Like so:
I'm not a woman, so I really don't have any right to an opinion on this, but I do have trouble understanding why any women in Kansas (or elsewhere) vote these folks into office.
I can only surmise that some segment of the women of Kansas want to force all the women of Kansas to abide by the rules that the segment voluntarily follow (most of the time).
Note to Wonket: This is slightly misplaced, as my outrage-meter is currently maxed about Tennessee's starve-poor-kids-because-they're-poor initiative.
Next on the Kansas legislative agenda: an amendment to whatever-bill-is-handy expanding the bow-hunting season to include deer, abortion clinic staff, evolutionists, and vegans.
Once again we see the Republican form of democracy in action - do what we say, keep your mouth shut, and if you step out of line we'll beat you into the ground.
I've seen tin-pot Banana Republics do a better job of not looking so shamelessly corrupt.

I would suggest "Second Amendment Remedies", but I think the right has that market cornered.

Sad truth: My family originally moved to Kansas from New England as part of the Free Soil movement.
