Thinking that being told there is a religion called Islam will turn his daughter into a Muslin indicates he doesn't think much of her critical thinking skills.

It reminds me of George Carlin's great line - Going to church won't make you a Christian any more than driving into a garage will make you a car.

Unless she's really, really good at SportsBall - in which case they'd give her an "A."

I saw a Yahoo! teaser for that story - something about American Dad Resists Daughter Being Told Islam is Perfect.

I wish I'd made that up - but I didn't.

2.0: OK - it looks like I did make that up. At least, I got it confused with another DC story (that I'm sure isjust as accurate!) "Massachusetts Father Mad Just Because Public School Teaches ‘There Is No God But Allah.'"

I have no snark for this. It's a whole new unexplored level of willful stupidity that will take my brain some time to process. Get back to me when Mr. Wood finds out that the English class is reading that Jewish deli classic, "The Kvetcher in the Rye."

And, obviously, we didn't lose in Vietnam - it was a tie.

He doesn't seem to have much faith in the appeal of his own Catholicism if learning about other religions is such a threat...
