He has also been living and working in Peru for I don't know how long, but long enough to have become a naturalized Peruvian citizen. I also don't know how Peru feels about dual citizenship. If he has that, I might call him an American-Peruvian. If not, just a Peruvian. He also is fluent in Spanish and Italian (another reason for MAGAs to hate him.) As far to the right as the Catholic Church in America has slipped, calling him an "American Pope" seems disingenuous - not 100% false, but at best a half-truth, and definitely misleading.
