Might depend on the surroundings. Certainly if one is outside, the ground is better than the air. Inside, a floor of tile-over-concrete is a ricochet hazard, so a drop ceiling might actually be a better "backstop", but perhaps the supply closet full of stacks of paper and stuff would have been better.

Has anyone pointed out that the school didn't think it important for a student who was peppered with shrapnel to seek medical attention? What about the parents? If I had come home bleeding from shrapnel as if it were no more problematic than mat-burn on my knees from gym, my parents would have been on the phone with their lawyer while I was in the ER.

I know, right? WTF is everyone thinking in this mess?

I was taught to do that whole procedure twice. Look into the chamber. Stick your finger in the chamber. Look away. Then, look into the chamber. Stick your finger in the chamber. Still no bullet? Gun is safe.

I had a sick squirrel in my backyard, and I called the po-po non-emergency number and asked them what should I do. They sent 2 police officers. They couldn't put it out of it's misery because the ground was frozen solid and presented a ricochet risk.

The NRA theory seems to be that if everyone carries a gun at all times then no one will ever get shot.

Probably an AR-15 would work too. And the NRA LOVES those.

Except that Barney wasn't greedy and malicious.

I would hope the the settlement from that district will handle tuition, room, board and a healthy stipend through Medical School. There is so much wrong here it’s beyond comprehension.

Chris Kyle was a liar. He also thought that taking a fellow vet who had PTSD out shooting was a great idea. He could have just taken him out for a beer or two and some talk. Not the brightest or most honourable guy, Chris Kyle.

When we grew up and went to schoolThere were certain teachers who wouldHurt the children any way they couldBy pouring their derisionUpon anything we didExposing every weaknessHowever carefully hidden by the kidsBut in the town it was well knownWhen they got home at night, their fat andPsychopathic wives would...shoot them with their own guns?

I believe we pointed that out right in the article. A couple times.

But has anyone pointed it out?
