Hey, It's Not Like It's Their Fault Things Have Gone So Badly in Iraq...Oh, Wait...
The White House announced last week that that Bush will present the Presidential Medal of Freedom -- the nation's highest civilian honor -- to "General Tommy Franks, who oversaw combat in Afghanistan and the initial invasion of Iraq, former CIA director George Tenet, and former Iraq administrator Paul Bremer." What, and nothing for Lyndie England? This is kind of like giving an Oscar to Ishtar. But Warren Beatty did get the Kennedy Center honors last night. Really, there's nothing like a shiny bit of metal to distract the entire country from a smoldering ruin of a resume. (Smoldering ruin of a country, too!)
