Yesterday I read an article in the London Book Review-- but the article isn't current and I don't know how I came upon it except that the author's name is Eli! It was an analysis of Trump fans and Brexit voters. There are people who follow father-type leaders like FDR and Obama, and others who follow leaders like Trump and Mussolini who comfort them for having failed in their own standards and resort to all sorts of low tricks! So pointing out Trump's failings to Trump's voters doesn't affect them. I can't find it now. I thought it was thru Salon but no. Interesting tho right? Maybe it was Eli Zaretski. It closely followed freudian theory which I couldn't follow so well.
