Holy shit the national mainstream press is such complete trash.

I would like to know:

1. How many pictures of Trump vs. pictures of the actual--you know--president of the United States, has the MSM run in the last 3.5 years?

2 How many times have we seen variants of the descriptors "strong/mighty/invincible conservative vs. "cat-loving, whiney-ass liberal"?

3. Why didn't the MSM's headlines describe Trump's acceptance speech as the rambling mass of incoherent lies, grievances and self-adoration it was?

Just asking.

The media is doing us a great disservice.

One of my cringiest memories is sitting down to watch the 2016 Republican convention with my kid, because I thought it was important to see the conventions and learn about the political process.

It was sickening. I had to turn off the tv and apologize and explain, “This is not how grownups are supposed to behave”

The New York Times wants Trump to win. That something I wouldn't have thought 8 years ago.

Zap's avatar

They wanted Hitler to win so...

RRJKR's avatar

Of course they do. Trump sells papers

Then you weren't paying attention, all they talked about were her nasty emails, and how she was unfit to be president!

And by God, we here at the 'New York Times' are suckers for a hard sell.

J.D. Vance accepts the Vice Presidential candidacy. I'm sure thinks it is a pluck job that will bring him great success. Then again, I wonder if he checked on what happened to last guy who had his job.

Ken_L's avatar

Vance is unlikely to make the mistake of disobeying his boss. Should they win in November, he will be focused like the most powerful laser on earth on being Trump's anointed heir, breezing through the 2028 primary with the full weight of the MAGA cult behind him.

The fun would start if he were to become president, while Trump continued to act as if he was the leader of the party.

i feel like he's banking on Trump dying in office (goddess forbid he wins the election). He is 78, eats like shit, refuses to exercise, and clearly fucking losing it, even more so than normal.

Katerwauler's avatar

He already said he'd have saved that stolen election, unlike Mike Pence, Massive Loser

Sigh. I am convinced that if the rapist wins, the NYTimes office will be bombed on the afternoon of next Jan 21, which I used to think would be a bad thing, but now I'm like, shrug, I'll miss Wordle and I hope Zachary Woolfe survives, but whatevs...

I can't care more about the MSM's existence than they do.

Meanwhile, Elmer Musk has discovered who is to blame for the massive computer outage yesterday and today, when a bad software update for a widely used security program took out about a third of the internet: It was all those n-clangs! He blamed the update failure on diversity initiatives. At which point my mental computer did an unfortunate regression to long ago times in my grad program when I had had to read up on medieval torture techniques.... https://qz.com/elon-musk-crowdstrike-internet-outage-dei-diversity-1851599596?utm_source=kotaku_newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2024-07-20

I am unsurprised at this news... Apartheid Clyde spends a good deal of his life looking for ways to blame DEI for things.

Yeah, and it's obvious that they mean the n-word or a woman or whoever. It's just their latest code for it, same as CRT and BLM were before.

The only solution is our vote. None of these institutions are able to do a gd thing about it.

clairence's avatar

Actually, Republicans have been working at the state level the past few years to make our votes irrelevant. We'll see how successful they are come January.

The shooter was spotted early on. And for 20 minutes was left alone to do fuck knows what. 20 mins! They just observed him. Then they let him start firing before taking some actual action. That guy didn't have to die.
