Doesn't look as though I'll be making the move. Cannot tell if I set up a "qwerty" over there years ago or not (keep getting an error re address/name but believe I set it up ... a looooooooooong time ago), so hope the new home is nice.
I read Wonkette and some other sites on Firefox and disabled Flash on FF for that reason. If I want to see (say) the kittens, I can always enable it. However, I believe Our Wonkette has another way of bringing up an ad in its own window. Altho it might be TPM. With the move to Disqus, I won't have to worry about that anymore as am not setting up another id and this is taken, so ...
I have the same gravatar (made sure of that) and essentially the same profile, but use a different name (rusticated gadfly). The end of the last <i>b&#039;ak&#039;tun</i> caused my previous identity to be extinguished and my current one has since emerged following the start of the present cycle, so now both the profile and that screen name need to be rewritten because neither one makes any sense anymore. What a <a href="http:\/\/www.wordgumbo.com\/pe\/may\/erengmay.htm" target="_blank"><i>k&#039;iinam</i></a> in the <a href="http:\/\/www.wordgumbo.com\/pe\/may\/erengmay.htm" target="_blank"><i>u bak&#039;el it.</i></a> But at least I won&#039;t have to do the same in ID.
It could be helpful to know what words are deemed unacceptable, but really, the post just mentioned various software packages that are the subject of the thread, with perhaps an f-word thrown in for good measure, so I don&#039;t see what would have been offensive about it.
