Naw. I acquired that cat in the 80's, long before internet cats were a thing. He died before Google even existed.

I could write a whole dissertation on this topic, but just to quickly add to salient point mentioned above:

2)The "petty tyrant" theory: Unfortunately, too mamy people relish the ability to lord power over other people (Hi Kim Davis!)

3) The "blustering bully" theory: related to what HogeyeGrex said, too many people direct their anger and pain downward (like the "mockbuster" version of a Haley Joel Osment film, Pay it Backwards) and go after "weaker" more "socially acceptable" targets when they are too afraid to confront the powerful forces actually affecting their lives. Unfortunately those darn meddling social justice warriors (and their dog) keep trying to reduce the number of "acceptable targets" enraging bigots all the more.

4) The "inadvertent concern troll" theory: the theory that traps too many "well-meaning" people into it's web by way of exploiting the "natural" cowardice of our society via peer pressure (this is where the "won't someone please think of the children?!" tactic used in discriminatory acts like these bathroom bills come in. I mean who wants to be seen as defending molestation wnd murder of our kids for something as intangible as "rights"?) This theory is often when the "I don't hate (classification group x), but I feel they shouldn't be able to do (insert normal human activity here)" rationalization comes in.

By the way, you'll probably notice that a lot of these theories are intermingled with each other (Hee! Bigoted ideas are practicing a little miscegenation! Irony!)
