My wife and I visited San Francisco in February, 2009 and debunked two popular myths, first that San Francisco isn’t a city you can walk around and enjoy because of the steep terrain, and second that it’s a crime and homelessness-ridden dystopia. There are many homeless people there, and that’s a shame. But many major cities experience that. It’s an American problem, not a Gavin Newsom problem. We were younger then, but we enjoyed walking all over the city and wharf area so much we returned in July that year when it was warmer. And we live 2000 miles from San Fran, so it took some travel to get there. That was 15 years ago, but we loved that city.

Everyone who debates Desantis should ask him "How many people did you watch get tortured, Ron?" He should be wearing a scarlet fucking G the rest of his life.

Any rational analysis should have controlled for ocelot poo. Exotic pets are a favorite among eclectic Romanesque liberals, and doubtless skewed the results of the survey. And they're sneaky. Ocelots, that is.

Kayleigh still ain’t McEnany sense!

Poop map, huh? Just read about a lawyer who got a year's suspension because he'd collect his poop in Pringles' cans and throw them out the window of his car to relieve stress. Seems he was throwing these things out the window when he was passing someone's home or business that was causing his stress.

And then there's the feces smeared on the walls of the Capitol on 1/6.

What is it about Republicans and poop? Always thought they acted like asshole middle schoolers. Are we giving them a few more years than they deserve?

Well if Kayleigh McEnany says DeSantis was the clear winner, then he definitely lost, because everything she says is a lie.

I still don’t see how this benefitted Tiny D. The last thing he needs is more exposure. The more people see his personality in action, the less they like him.

I'm wondering how this benefited Fox. What were they thinking, giving a photogenic Democrat unfiltered access to their audience, some for the first time in their lives?

They probably think he’s secretly ok because anyone who’d marry Kimberly Guilfoyle on purpose must be a nutter. I have to say on that point I agree. Guilfoyle is such a perfect wingnut wackdoodle it makes me wonder about Newsom’s judgment.

Yeah but, yeah but, yeah but...how is Gavin "San Fran-poop-so" Poop-some polling among the GOP candidates? Don't even see Mr. Smarty Pants in the list, do you!

Newsom said ''I’m the only guy here that is a border state governor''. NOT true. Even though it is a water border, Florida borders The Bahamas. People can be smuggled over water borders.

More pertinently, every coastal state is a border state, which is why nearly all USAmericans live within 100 miles of a border and as a result don't have full rights against unreasonable search and seizure.

In practice, the most visible abuses of this are in the US SW, and places like Detroit.

That is very much true. I live in Central NY, and as a result I am in that area because of the Canadian border. In my case the closest border in is the middle of Lake Ontario. People who don't live here often forget abot the Great Lakes It's a border that most of us never thought about that much, especially when you have friends in Ontario, Québec and Nova Scotia. The only Great Lake to be completely in the US is Lake Michigan.

Admittedly there is way less problem over much of the US-Canada border except Detroit-Windsor, but last week the MSM, espeically Fox Spews tried to make a big deal about that huge crash in Niagara Falls, NY, conitnuing to push a lie that the car came from the Canadian side, which it didn't. Most locals (and I) knew it couldn't've cause there was NO footage at all the the Rainbow Bridge itself.

It was a local Niagara Falls, NY accident that went way wrong, and the remnants of the car just happened to end up at the border crossing stataion.

My only border problems now are that they changed the rules and while I could perviously go in and out of Canada with just my NY driver's licence, I know have to have a passport, and my last one expired and haven't got it renewed yet.

Leave it to a Republican to rely on irrelevant shit in a debate, and another one to declare him the winner because of it. Gov. Newsome is lucky that Death sentence merely displayed a map of feces, rather than taking a dump on stage and flinging it, a tactic that Lumpy would no doubt have applauded as clever and innovative.

And about people leaving CA in droves: https://www.macrotrends.net/states/california/population

According to that, the population went from a high of 39,501,653 in 2020 to 39,029,342 in 2022. These people have a very strange definition of "leaving in droves." Florida is growing, but is just a little over half the population of CA.

I'd be thrilled if more people left Los Angeles.

They just lie about everything.

That means that around 1 in 8 Americans choses to live in CA. Seems more of a ringing endorsement to me.

Not necessarily. Other than Texas and Alaska, it is the largest state, so one of the largest spaces for people to live in. Doen't mean everyone there likes living there - many may have no choice, just like where other poor people live.

Florida has much higher rates of poverty than California. Like 13.1% vs 11.4%. But Texas has even higher - 13.7%. Those figures are from 2022. The average for the entire USA is 11.5%.

I do not dispute THAT. I am saying that not every poor person that lives in every place likes that place. They may have other reason thay cannot get out, often family.

Has anyone else noticed that weird rictus of a smile that keeps flashing on and off DeSantis's face while Newsome tears him a new asshole? It's like he keeps hearing the voice of a political consultant in his head going "Remember to smile, Ron, we need to humanize you more," only it doesn't quite take and he needs to keep reminding himself.

That man is not right.

We thought he was a threat, but he turned out to be this year's Scott Walker.

Wait did he literally say "California COLLAPSE"?

California just recently moved up to the FOURTH largest economy ON THE PLANET, Ron. That's hardly a "collapse". Your state only wishes it could be doing as well as the Great State of California.

I love the part where Newsom said (paraphrase): “Why don’t you drop out of the race so Nikki Haley can take on Trump one-on-one?”

It was like watching a little flash on the horizon turn into a humongous fireball on the horizon.

That was a good one, but so was "neither one of us is going to be a presidential candidate next year."

That was delightfully brutal. He just scared the piss out of any Republican planning to run in 2028.

Scared of Newsom? Based on just that?

Oh, I think it’s based on much more than that. That is, unless Trump wins, upon which Newsom will be sent to Gitmo for mumble mumble mumble reasons.

It's true. The whole state is covered in poop. You should all stay far away.
