Everything is going hunky-dory down here, South of the Border, as we stock up on ISLAMO-TEQUILA for the 200th anniversary of Mexico’s "independence" from foreign rule. But Hillary Clinton is bored being Secretary of State when every PUMA knows SHE SHOULD BE PRESIDENT! And while Obama is stuck in midterm madness, Clinton noticed there's a Drug War and has declared a COUP DE POT. Is Mexico now "looking more and more like Colombia looked 20 years ago, where the narco-traffickers control certain parts of the country"? And if so, will she be invading Mexico in time for the September 16 bicentennial?
"We face an increasing threat from a well-organized network, drug-trafficking threat that is, in some cases, morphing into, or making common cause with, what we would consider an insurgency," Clinton said .... And although the administration has regularly praised the cooperation of Mexican authorities, some U.S. officials are beginning to show uneasiness about the partnership.
Top American officials have noted that the Mexican government does not always act on intelligence shared by the U.S., and some suspect corruption is sometimes the cause of the inaction. "There is some frustration," Alonzo R. Pena, deputy director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said in an interview. U.S. officials may pinpoint a particular house where a cartel figure is believed to be, and no operation ensues to capture him, he said.
Pena said that the Mexicans, who have lost an "astronomical" number of police officers and soldiers, may be simply cautious when they decide not to use U.S. information to attack the gangs. But at other times "it is completely corruption," he said.
So Señora Presidente wants to send more money to those same officials!
Welcome back from Iraq, men and women of the Armed Forces! Enjoy your brief furlough. America’s Next President Clinton can’t yet be president of Washington, so she’ll tide herself over by declaring herself ruler of this land of MOSKS disguised as “Aztec temples,” and will soon be sending you all on SPRING BREAK. The end.
Or is it? Hillary's weird comments were smacked down by Obama himself, who made a mysterious Spanish-only statement toLa Opinionthat loosely translates as "Shut up, Hillary. I've got enough problems."
"Mexico is vast and progressive democracy, with a growing economy, and as a result you cannot compare what is happening in Mexico with what happened in Colombia 20 years ago," Obama told Los Angeles-based Spanish language newspaper La Opinion .
Obama's comments were printed in Spanish and no English transcript was available from the White House.
As usual, it's impossible to parse Obama's comments unless you're an anti-colonialist Kenyan foreigner, which he is.
