The nordic model is often referred to as "cuddly capitalism". It's a free market capitalistic system. I should point out that each country which follows this model ( the other Scandinavian countries) may not resemble what applies in Norway. But as of today, Norway is strongly capitalistic.

My point is that the labels don't always fit neatly. I don't consider Norway a purely socialist country, or an end-stage capitalistic one either.

They are NOT socialist. My God, read up on Bismark, read up on their brief experiment with socialism, read up on their approach towards using capitalism to pay for their programs. For GOd's sake.

I'm revisiting this because it's that important. THEY ARE NOT SOCIALIST. They briefly experimented with it but they are largely capitalist. Or to be generous...

They're a mixed bag economy. Understand that in Europe , Bismark who implemented the idea of a social safety net, despised socialism. Taxation is not a socialist concept neither is a social safety net. So yes Norwegians have access to basic essentials, but capitalism is encouraged to pay for those essential services. Socialism is the full ownership of all industry by Government. That is NOT Norway. And if you turn to a country like Sweden, they have one of the largest stock exchanges in the world - so socialist!

It is ever so shallow, but I agree with you. Like snark, a little frivolity keeps us going. Anyway, M.W. is a role model for how to age right, and that is not shallow.

Republicans would do well to remember that the French Revolution was due to women, furious that they couldn't feed themselves or their children, and supervised by women at the guillotine. Look out, Mitch...

Is it shallow to say that Aunt Maxine is looking fierce and fabulous? The hair, the outfit, the poise, the fire, the ability to speak in full sentences, she puts Lord Dampnut to shame in every arena.

I think the appropriate response to the "democrats are a mob" line should be "hell yeah we're a mob, and we're sharpening our pitchforks and fueling up our torches right now, in fact we'll be sending our mobs to all the polling places where you nice white people like to go vote, and if we see any MAGA hats, be prepared to get tarred and feathered motherfuckers"

The art of the hissy fit. Republicans have perfected it. The corporate MSM falls for it every time. So Trump can call "democrats the party of criminals", and no one in the media bats an eye. HIllary says we aren't going to be civil til after the election. Clutch the pearls everyone. Gets so fucking tiring.

4 weeks before election day, in an attempt to be relevant, Hillary says a thing that only serves to energize trump's base - there is a major reason that Obama, Biden and Bernie are stumping for candidates and Hillary is not - specifically to avoid energizing trump's base against the candidates she would stump for - she is engaging in fundraisers, which is good. But Hillary campaigning for other Democratic candidates, in light of her singular ability to energize the vast right wing voting population. is seen, this election cycle, as a very bad idea.

1.) I said I loved her. So you completely ignored my personal response. In fact, you apparently thought I said the opposite, which is just wrong.2.) She didn't win "90% of women" in 2016.3.) I'm sorry, but were you 90% of outraged women planning on sitting this election out?I rest my case.
