Fuck Ted Cruz. That's all I got...

Cheers to that, and I'll add a Fuck Elno for good measure.

Looks like Putin has found a new favorite Made-in-America Russian Propaganda toy. Trump is in danger of losing his first pet position.

So Pooty Poot has small-d*ck energy, he’s shorter than my short self, and he’s absolutely bug f*ck nuts. I mean, none of that is news to anyone with sense.

But calling Elmo a talented businessman? There’s no way he could be serious. Does he not see what’s happening with Twitter? Or the rapid unplanned disassembly of multiple SpaceX rockets?

I take issue with the “talented businessman” view of Elmo, but let’s be clear: Hairplugs Musk didn’t found squat. Not Tesla, not SpaceX. He bought them, but unlike Twitter they aren’t being ruinously run into the ground by an idiotic egomaniac.

Maybe Ukraine can send the drones to Elon’s house.

The story of Leon Skum; from mere raging asshole to national security risk!

I will be glad when the people that Putin is actually working for get tired of losing billions of dollars and put a bullet in his head.

That’s more mercy than that murderous war criminal deserves.

The way pootie manipulates emotionally damaged shlubs, you’d think he was a spy or something

I often wonder if Putin laughs about how easy it is to manipulate rich Americans.

Putin's hold on power is partly the largesse he extends to supporters. None of them want to see their riches evaporate in a mushroom cloud when the retaliation strikes.

Putin's hold on power is also partly the fear of his ruthless takedowns of opponents. No one wants to be the subject of such.

That creates a unified solution should he ever try a nuclear escalation: a bullet. The world-ending lunacy is averted along with the threat of his anger.

Frankly, his monomania on restoring Greater Russia should never be confused with being irrational in actual practice, and the chance of nukery is as nil as any prediction can be...but if that's wrong he won't last long enough to do it.

Ukraine isn't in charge of the US. That will be Elno Skum's and Putin's job, when they get their way. Then Elno can turn his X a wee bit, and bend the arms a little, and he'll be happy.

Yes, Russian military defers maintenance, on nukes, as well as the other stuff, to preserve the military bonus structure. Russian nukes no longer are overwhelming, if they ever were. But some of the Russian nukes will fire. If you’re the one who gets hit by the nukes that still function, they’re overwhelming for you.

Lefty Wright's avatar

If all Putin has to do is threaten to launch nuclear weapons he can invade and occupy any country he wants. Even if they are NATO countries if Trump is elected. "I think it's ridiculous for the US to send our troops over to defend Estonia. What, a couple million people, many of whom are Russian? Are we going to risk New York or Mar-a-Lago being hit with a nuclear bomb to defend people who have no value to us? What do they buy, why would you build a beautiful 40 story building with gorgeous condos and high class shops in Estonia?"

That is why we support Ukraine, even though they are not NATO members. They are fighting a battle for democracy that should deter future aggression by Russia.

[Redacted]'s avatar

I’m not saying we cave in to Russian pressure. I’m just saying we have to be careful. To Putin, concessions are strategic. You have to be really careful.

Anti-Social Socialist's avatar

Concede. NOTHING. Resounding defeat is the only message he'll learn from.

ManchuCandidate's avatar

The one story we were told endlessly about Russian military ineptitude/corruption is that the nukes of the Strategic Rocket Forces were kept pristine and in working order. Based on how the Russians actually do things and not how they want to do things, the Russian SRF might be just another Potemkin village.

Wokey McWokeface's avatar

From what we know now, the state of Russian nukes depends on the black market price of their guidance systems.

The All-In podcast, friends of Elon, had even more stupid takes on Ukraine and everything else.

Can someone explain the nature of Musk's supposed brilliance? Near as I can tell it's a case of being in the right place at the right time (twenty years ago).

Also Musk telling everyone he's fucking brilliant when he's not.

It's remarkable how much damage narcissists do. Not just Trump and Elon. Collective narcissism is a thing and the GQP fits the description.

That's what Romney was gonna do. So you look at Bain Capital and their entire plan was asset strip the companies they took over, raid the pension plans for C-level bonuses, fire as much of the staff as possible then go in to liquidation for the tax write off.

So, it kinda is what Republicans keep doing.

to be fair, chopping everything up and selling the bits is what Reagan, Thatcher, and Kohl were doing already almost half a century ago.

I heard an Indian scholar claim that when Britain arrived India was the richest nation in the world. Don't know if that's absolutely true, but it was a well-to-do nation for sure.

It's not in doubt what he said next: "When it left, it left two of the poorest nations in the world."
