Homeland Insecurity?
Operatives report in strange doings in downtown. First, we have a generic complaint about the inevitable street closings that make us safe:
Michael Chertoff, newly nominated director of Homeland Security, is reportedly holding a meeting on L street between 18th and Connecticut this morning. Apparently, the best way to keep the homeland secure is to shut it down. 18th Street is closed from K St. - M St., and L is shut down from 18th - Connecticut. Not even pedestrian traffic is being allowed through.
But, uhm, such a clamp down may not even have worked. Another operative, let's call him/her "Cassandra," says:
something apparently went boom in a mailbox outside of Borders at 17th & L. Police lines, men in funny suits, streets blocked off, all kinds of crazy shit going on. Cant see any kind of damage, smoke, or anything tho so all seems ok
As the man says, developing...
