A few people do still say 'dial', but I can assure you that many younger people have no bloody clue what that means. In fact, some were/are confused why a dial tone is called that.

I was essentially agreeing with paul up above AND I agree with you, but that doesn't mean that people can't learn the new terms.But regarding film, I still perfer the texture and look of films that were filmed on film, and can most definitely tell the difference in a movie theatre. Of course I have to accept the digital aspect when watching a DVD or Blu-ray, but at least many of those are digitised from film stock and not from digital files, and many of the better companies like Criterion used the finest prints avaliable to do so.
