They jumped on her because it was a huge upset-- remember, and then she turned out to be pretty, and then she turned out to speak so well and was friendly. I know she isn't a hog for the limelight and you can tell, if you listen to her reasons for why she didn't join with the people who wrote the letter: her reasons came out slowly, in a measured way, bc she is serious.

We're not "so dependent" on her. She's just the best person to lead the House at this point. She plans to groom her replacement, and there are a number of excellent Dem reps, including people she herself approached to run, supported, fundraised, and helped elect (as I said, Adam Schiff comes to mind).
