I won't argue justification, but I will point out that Cannon's action has generated no side effects on uninvolved bystanders, whereas Christie's had a direct, negative impact on thousands of people.

I'm all for being polite to strangers, but politicians who go out in public need to expect a little ribbing. Being Governor isn't exactly a license to be left alone.

Now, was Pat McCrory a customer? Was he going to actually buy something? Or was he just using the store and taking up everybody's time to try to advance himself?

Be very, very careful!

As I see it Drew Swope decided on taking a course of action, knowing what the consequences would be, in order to show his distaste for the Governor. That Patrick Cannon chooses to intervene, publicly, to get Swope another job, is no more or no less justifiable than Chris Christie's road block.
