What is the deal with this? a right-winger on a political discussion board I waste time on teased this, this morning, prompting me to look it up (looks like 40% -ish of the NYT parent corporation is owned by 7 funds including one of Warren Buffett's, and a BlackRock one, and a Vanguard one (if memory serves, re the last one)...curious as to what the disinformation game is here. Was posed as a question on that board, too, just like above.

They aren't freaking out about it because they get to keep the money they were paid. It should be sanctioned away from them and their YouTube channels shut down completely, but that won't happen. Rules are different for rich white rethugs.

As suggested elsewhere, if they really were "victims," they should give the money to the US government or donate it to a legitimate charity. If they keep the money, that tells you all you need to know about how APPALLED they really are.

I feel like Paul Manafort was associated with some company named Tenet. Am I imagining that? If not then is this the same one?

It was a promotion for these clowns. They went from being "idiots" to "useful idiots". At no point did they think it was odd to be pushing so much Putin propaganda. Since they were already pushing Russian and other white "Christian" supremacist/nationalist propaganda, they saw nothing unusual in someone paying them to push more of the same.

Funny how similar the outlooks of U.S. RWNJs are to those of Putin's propagandists. What an odd coincidence, the convergence of America's homegrown Fascists with the regime of Vladimir Putin. I remember when the Moonie newspaper, the Washington Times, tried to launch a front page scandal based on then-Oxford scholar Bill Clinton's trip to Russia, alleging that he was recruited by the GRU as a Manchurian Candidate, taking orders direct from the Kremlin, and at that time the Right used any contact with Russia to red-bait any Democrat, because not blindly hating Russia was a bad thing, at the time.

The stupid lies they told about Bill Clinton was beyond ignorant. They never apologized, corrected the record or anything else. Old propaganda still circles around. It's truly sick. Ya know, it's not red-baiting if it's true & it is with regard to the traitorous fascist cult GOP. These never trumpers trying to act like it's all trump are full of it. That party was a pile of festering dung before he got to it. I can't stand those clowns thinking they'll take the party back to where it was. It's been crap since those cowards started stealing taxpayer money from everyone to award to their rich psychopath pals. ReTHUGs are hypocrites. When they were tea baggers they were posting that stupid picture of their lover Putin bare chested riding a horse...

Thinking of all the soldiers and vets that fought and sacrificed for keeping our democratic way of life and free society.

It is beyond bizarre that a political party that, during my lifetime, engaged in the most ruthless, vicious, destructive anti-Communist and anti-Russia demagoguery imaginable, is now getting its talking points and money from Moscow. These people, simply put, believe in NOTHING.

It's also confusing. So they still accuse Dems of being Commis, yet they lick the boots of Putin. Then again, he's not a Communist, no he's actually worse....a fascist in a Kleptocracy.

From 2021 interview:

“So I won’t do those jokes anymore. Which is fine, because the reason I didn’t do the joke on the special is because I came to an understanding that other people came to much sooner than I did.

Which is what? Which is that a lot of people are idiots.

You don’t want to have a joke be misunderstood and then someone goes and beats up a trans person.”

People can learn and change.

One of the people involved is a man named Tayler Hansen. I was confused, and was afraid that the story referred to Taylor Hanson, who was a member of the popular singing group, Hanson. I was relieved to see that they're two different men.
