Truth is an affirmative defense in libel. Meaning if you can show what you published is true, the offended side can just fuck off.

In the US, not necessarily in the UK. Which is why so many lawsuits try to file there--venue shopping. Something like 95% of all libel actions in the UK find for the plaintiff.

Slovenia is a nice place. It was not involved in the Balkan war and is quite beautiful, stable, and relatively prosperous. Lots of people go there for the skiing and hiking. FWIW.

Ugh. I am not a lawyer but I have been threatened with bogus lawsuits for public participation. Smells of SLAPP to me.

Did the Fail retract? As noted, UK libel laws are a lot friendlier to the plaintiffs.
