The word “whistleblower” is doing some heavy lifting here, and throughout the GOP’s numerous bad-faith “investigations.” A whistleblower in general has the receipts to back up their claims of malfeasance. Seems more like what they tend to trot out is a bog-standard “disgruntled former employee.” Or even the old favorite, a “partisan hack.”

It's so easy for the Rethugs to make allegations. Proving them is another matter entirely, but they don't care. As long as they make allegations the media will report them and their idiot voters will believe them.
Seems like it is necessary to attempt a prosecution on this and if it is determined that they didn't break any laws, then we need laws to address this specific issue
