Ha that's really good! And ya I don't like it either. Uphill walk where I'll max the incline is fine because I can just zone out on the phone. Running makes it a bit more challenging.
I am, as a rule, well and truly furloughed when the government shuts down. The ones I feel sorry for are our safety inspectors, who have to continue to do their jobs, including travel, and pay for it out of their own pockets until Congress pulls its head out of its ass.
Juror pay is definitely not great, but I think it’s $50/day in federal court, plus meals & travel expenses. We later found out that the judge had been bringing in homemade baked goods and fronting the expenses for lunch and beverages for the jurors. My secretary tended to order too much for the lunches she brought in for our side, which we couldn’t share with the jurors for obvious ethical reasons. But my paralegal made sure to take all the extras down to the CSOs, who were very appreciative (don’t know whether they were still getting paid at that point or not).
Last time I had jury service in state court, it was $6/day. You had the option of signing over your check to the local governments, which is what I did.

Maybe give a jog a try? See where you're at?

Did you comment much? Do you remember a guy named like Charlie Smith or something, a red headed avatar commentor? I swear it was a bot.

It was the hot topic of Pelosi's presser this morning: https://www.c-span.org/vide...
Same. I hate running, so my cardio is walking up 13.5% grades at 4mph. It does the trick.
6.3 bil for Afghan resettlement? Where are we sending them, to the Moon? How many did we get out? 20,000? 50,000?
It’s a completely bonkers - and broken - system.
I guess the good news is that the CR passed the Senate, so it should surely pass the House, and disaster is once again avoided.
But Congress definitely needs a better proctologist.
one crisis at a time.
what a wonderful motto to live by.

If you can’t point that out to him, are you really friends?
"And there was much rejoicing."(SFX: distant light crowd cheering)
Wait. Hold on now. She has clothes?
IKR? Had to look!
Do the troops in Japan have to stop working, since they are a day ahead of the US mainland where the vote would take place?
I was like, 4 years old when that came out. I wanted to see it SO BAD, but my mom wouldn't let me. WAAAHH!
