All that would be great if this renowned anti-vaxxer could be trusted on anything. He says he wants good science but he profits from fake science.

I spent so many years studying math physics and engineering, and then working as an engineer doing HW and SW design and, most importantly, debug that when I encounter WORDS like these

.

You know how bureaucracies work. Every time a new issue arises, they tack on another committee. This leads to tremendous waste and duplication, and worst of all, a loss of any unified sense of mission. The resulting pandemonium has injured American health and damaged department morale

.

They don't evoke anything in me because they are so abstract, general, vague and unsupported they don't mean anything at all.

.

Like Mr Feinmann said "physics is not philosophy"

.

If you are concerned about POSSIBLE inefficiency then first you are going to have to go looking for it, which means you are going to have to be extremely knowledgable about the actual structure and functioning of the system. Then you make a simplified model of the thing and pose hypothetical models of where to look for inefficiency, and test your hypotheses, and evaluate the results. That would take years. It's likely that after a long time of correctly directed investigation you really will find better, cheaper ways of doing things.

.

so then you slowly, cautiously implement your changes and try to evaluate if they work. They probably won't at first. But you might be able to debug it have a good idea for your to implement your idea. You try it out on a small scale. Then you scale it up - move those people into new roles (why fire them - they have more knowledge than you do and are a good asset) and then at the very end to eliminate the department if necessary. See how easy?

You don't start at the end by firing people - that will result only in chaos and harm

There’s a reason Mies van der Rohe famous quote, “Less is more,” is about buildings and not about the administration of a vital government health organization charged with researching and funding solutions to the country’s health issues. He knew to stay in his lane, unlike Robert F “I like dead bears and I cannot lie” Kennedy.

Also, too, Madeline Kahn and the flames. It is hard to express out much that meme expresses me.

"Because if such a thing did exist, the ghost of his uncle, noted single-payer healthcare advocate Ted Kennedy, would have risen up from the grave and beaten the absolute shit out of him. Or made him explode. Or something. Or if telekinesis existed, I would have been able to do so, somehow."

Drop the mic, Robyn. Well done.

It was easy to demonize government workers because despite the enormous amount of government services we utilize everyday, they are invisible. The "Deep State" is what keeps the lights on and the trains running on time. You don't miss your water until your well runs dry

Arrogant right-wing assholes always say that sort of thing: they insist that if a government service or program is not 100% efficient, it needs to get the axe. Anything less than perfection means total failure. But almost nothing worth accomplishing or doing is like that. No human system is without flaws, and that certainly applies to health care. It applies to government at every level. Should we just give up on health care, government, and so forth? I don't think so--these are things that allow us to live in a civilized way. And that is at base what these moronic bastards take aim at: civilization itself. They won't be happy until we're all (well, except them) living in caves and "going without" the way our suffering ancestors did.

I've been thinking about this for a bit. Here's what I've come up with. The cuts to HHS is a part of the Social Security plan. Depending how many people RFK's cuts kill, the SS dollars not needing to be spent will offset the tax cuts Oligarchs so desperately want. Same for Medicare, Medicaid, VA benefits and health care. There are probably more than that but those 4 have the greatest likelihood of killing people off.

As a fringe benefit, since people of color have lower life spans than white people, the more of those they can knock off will, in addition, save all those deportation expenses, medical expenses (if any are left to pay), and miscellaneous lawyers fees working to negate their voting rights. Bottom line, there is a whole shitload of money out there that can be picked off if they can just kill off enough people. Think of low-hanging fruit. If you make or have less than maybe $50,000,000 semi-liquid, you are one.
