I read the Dolly Parton obit Erik did around 3am. My take on it was it felt incomplete. It had a very abrupt ending. It felt like two thirds of a write up, (country music legend, American capitalist, missing part) What it really needed for a strong closer was to touch on her philanthropy particularly her literacy program. As all humans are she was a complex individual. One thing is certain though the world is a lesser place with her gone.
Billionaires like Chris Mark are exactly why we need to tax them. I mean besides doing good things for others with the money. That man was creepy as fuck and has way more money than decency and common sense. With less money available maybe he wouldn't be so creepy and, I assume, dangerous. Maybe he is just eccentric but I kind of doubt it. People with that kind of money are definitely prone to seeing how far they can go and what they can get away with because they feel invincible. Scary stuff.
...Hennepin County DA Mary Moriarty says they (The awful people)coordinated their giant N-WORD banner with the cops, so everythingβs really stupid and dumb...
Soooo, Moriarty's office tacitly permitted a fellow, known to be a provocateur, with a sign featuring a term as laden with history and vile intent as that one to incite a riot, provoke violence, and disrupt public safety.
I find it hard to believe they gave him a permit to drive on the sidewalk where people were standing. It's some bullshit that the cops allowed him to do that while pointing their guns at the people on the sidewalk.
Technical Trivial Note: Under most circumstances it is Captain America's job to coldcock nazi scumbags on sight. Also too, Spiderman in Minneapolis? The webslinger normally patrols New York City. But we are in abnormal times and Captain America is probably busy with nazis at DHS.
I will overlook the technical errors and hoist a big mug of joe to honor Peter Parker for his guts and his right jab.
There really is something about a man with an eyepatch! Something that says 'You better come running when I say "RUN". (Nick did start his career riding herd on a bunch of lazy, good for nothing, goldbricks who were better suited to work in the mess hall! But at the end of the day and Hitler was dead there wasn't a better crew of friends to have a good time with!)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there's a scene in The Bodyguard where they're in a bar and JOHN DOE is singing I Will Always Love You on the jukebox. So even in the context of the movie Whitney's version isn't the original.
Oy. The 'I love black people but hate [n-words]' thing is directly taken from Chris Rock's 1996 Bring the Pain HBO special. Of all the things that a black person can say but a white person can't - hell, it barely even makes sense when a white person says it - that is the can't-sayest. The degree of willful cluelessness it takes to not realize that is unfathomable to me. It's more likely just unalloyed racism masquerading as something else.

πΆ Swish paff I wuz takinβ a baff πΆ
Is birb.
I woke up this morning
And just had to howl
With laughter at the antics
Of a break dancing owl.
Nice feather duster impression.
"I meant to do that!"
Baby owl is rollin' with it.
"I meant to do that."
Cats say that too when they run into a wall. ;)
"Give a hoot, don't pollute!"
What a hoot!
What was the issue with the Dolly obituary? I missed it.
Apparently it wasn't worshipful enough?
We have a Spiderman in Minneapolis?
I need to get downtown more often.
Jack Long needs to stay away. Seems like Texas might be a better place for his hate.
the human ai billboard is really very terrible

It just seemed, to me, way out of place to be published here where so many people, including regular authors, have such great respect for her.
It was missing everything I truly admired her for.
If you're getting an ad on the Star Tribune article (I was) here's an Archive link

So you don't think inviting women to his castle so he can watch them to have sex is humanitarian if he's feeding them?
How fitting, the burrowing owls accompanying posts about the Bay Area.
ππ’π’π’π―π₯ ANOTHER thing!

Heads should be rolling right now.

His peaceful protesting at the Capitol was what tipped the scale.
Yeah, I asked last week "who brings a baseball bat to a peaceful protest?" and it turns out it's him!!!
At least it wasn't advocating giving kids free lunch at school. That would be divisive!
So, is the Dolly obit lost to the interwebs forever? Or are we getting an upgraded replacement later?
Iβd take the deleted one as-is (as-was?).

Spider-Man is based in NYC, but when Nick Fury needs help with Nazis, everyone comes running.

Nice sign there Jake! Expect to get punched a lot, you fucking Nazi!

It's also one his bits that hasn't aged well.
On a side note there is a lot of 90s comedy routines that haven't.
Who is funding Jake Lang? He doesn't appear to work so he must be one of those "takers" about which the bootstraps brigade blarps vociferously.
He needs to be incarcerated because his repeated violent behavior. The GOP is soft on crime. Let the word go forth, Democrats.
I propose we rename Lake Erie as Lake Trump because it's the shallowest. Bonus feature: toxic algae blooms.
Just call the lampreys "Trumpfish".
