And not everything needs to be put to a vote. It's wildly impractical. Sometimes it's okay to just line up resumes and hire a person that's smart about the thing that needs to be run.

I agree. I just wish we had a thread that would give me the reason to post his "tribes with flags" bit. That explained 19th Century European history a lot better than many books ever have.

So, Kerby thinks having an unelected health district being able to shut down schools is bad? He was a superintendent, unelected, who had a lot of power to govern his school district (including shutting down the school, for example during a storm), which, I assume, he now thinks is bad?
