I've been to Sandpoint, Lake Pond Oreille, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Rexburg and Dubois. I've driven over White Bird Pass in a semi, and watched an 18-wheel log truck -- with one yoooge tree trunk -- smoke its tires and brakes for the full 7-mile downhill as I worked hard at keeping mine under control. Idaho, like so much of the LDS west, is beautiful, but populated by more crazy mofos per square foot than could ever result in a happy ending.

Yeah, it's pathetic that somebody would sabotage their own child's success to, for example, satiate their own ego. But unfortunately some people have fragile egos and their defense mechanism is to tear down other people. Those closest to them inevitably bear the brunt of these attacks. Unfortunately the victims are at high risk for internalizing the very same pathological shittiness.

... an ROK which was on good terms with the PRC would mean that the DPRK would no longer be of any use as a buffer state and reunification would be on the cards, or am I wrong?

I would love to join a feminist lesbian collective though I may lack some qualifications

Well, I don't see reunification in the near future. It will help take targeting preassure off Seoul and put it on Japan. Remember over 20 million ROK residents live within 50 miles of DMZ.

Much like everywhere else, if these people actually bothered to learn things from reputable sources (like a quality college) instead of relying on hearsay and Fox News (the difference being ?), the reception for their paranoid, illogical ravings would be dismissed outright.
