If not the parents, still It seem that somebody should have some say in the event of a minor child turning up pregnant, we shouldn't be just leaving them alone. The impregnator would be ruled out, although they might be one of those "trusted adults", even a "responsible authority."

The issue is not abortion. That is the side show. The real issues are tied up in Male Supremacy and White Supremacy. That is all. Women are to be slaves to male needs regardless of the health consequences. This is what they want and will kill as many women as necessary to get their way. You can forget about women's equality until the women of America stop enabling toxic masculinity. Nothing else matters to a good 50 percent of the electorate and trans rights, LGBTQ, Gay whatever - nope, they do not care, and they have the money to supress through GOP State governments to make life in the USA Hell for anyone who doesn't fit Gregg Abbot's or Ron DeSantis's idea of who is and who is not a valid human being - and women aren't it. They take a back seat to pieces of tissue that don't breathe. That is how important you are....not very to not at all.

Great, so now we have to have an underground railroad network for pregnant teens.

"Bad news for Idaho teenagers who don’t have parents they can trust to help them end an unwanted pregnancy."

But the right says abusive uptight parents who will mistreat their teen kids for having premarital sex and/or getting knocked up is a FEATURE, not a bug. Evidently forcing children to bear unwanted brats will scare the other horny teens into not doing the Devil's Polka!

I mean, what do they expect them to do? Provide teens with free access to birth control? Both the government handout and condoning of fornication is GODLESS COMMUNISM!!!

Being raised by priggish Christian parents who wouldn't let me even leave the house as a teenager lest I go out and jeopardize my immortal soul by having sex before marriage, this is a triggering topic. It's part of the reason I'm still a virgin at 50 (the rest of it is me being a fat, ugly, mentally ill, freak).

The worst part of this bill is it means that if a minor has an ectopic pregnancy, "Parents' Rights" include the right to kill your child by denying them an abortion. But since parents have a right to kill their children, what's the reason for banning abortion?!?

How about a law that could punish underworld figures who offer abotion services and then turn around and blackmail the woman, her family, and everyone who assisted. Does that seem like something that could happen? Now that we are soon to have President Mob Boss

i'm in market research (amongst other things). we're doing some work on hospital systems. today we had an interview with a head nurse from a rural hospital in TX. while our study has nothing to do with politics or the sorry state of america, you could tell from this women that the state of rural hospitals in TX is absolutely shite.

I have a compromise!

Instead of banning abortion trafficking, we'll just ban abortion traffic. Anyone who causes gridlock near a Planned Parenthood facility is subject to immediate arrest and punishment by writing five hundred times on the chalkboard, "I will not impede women's access to reproductive health care."

"Planned Parenthood is not setting up shop at high schools, picking random kids out of a crowd and going “Hey! Has anyone ever told you that you could be great at having abortions?”"

-

Sorry to burst y'alls bubble, but my local Planned Parenthood just set up shop in my local high school. Not only are they giving out free abortions for everyone, they are also promoting through the month of December that you can get 50% off of your sex change surgery if you go with Planned Parenthood. With the promise of a new gender by Christmas. But wait, there's more!!!! 10% off your next Lasik treatment if you go to the school and get all three surgeries by the end of Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 5 PM, EST. Happy Holidays MAGAS!!!!!

The school nurse did line our daughter up with The Pill. We only knew about it because our daughter told us she was going to go to the school nurse and ask for it. We could have, would have, and were going to, get it for her through our insurance and existing medical resources.

She wanted to get it through the school as a leadership thing. All her classmates knew our family was supportive and relatively affluent, but there was a stigma about 1) The Pill and 2) getting it from the school nurse. So our daughter decided to go that route and be public about it, leveraging her relatively high status.

Same reason she went with Planned Parenthood to get an IUD, after headache problems with The Pill in its various variations. She told everyone in her social circles she was doing that, too. We were supportive (of course) and had the money and access to the medical system that she could have gone that way; but she wanted to do it the way her classmates could do it also, to be a leadership example.

That kid's going to be fine. We're not going to be grandparents until she's good and goddam well ready.

Smart girl. Well parented.

Thanks! Before she could speak intelligibly, we could already tell she was a natural leader and the latest in our family tree who could simply not abide injustice in any way. At that time it mostly had to do with who got the larger cookie, or had to go to bed earlier. But as soon as she had regular contact with the larger world outside our home, she was horrified and enraged by the unfairness she saw everywhere and put herself on the line over it.

I remember the day when she was in 2nd grade, and I got called in because the Principal had granted her and some other "good" kids some insignificant privilege not extended to the other kids, and Daughter refused because the others were excluded, and verbally eviscerated the Principal over it. I asked him what exactly he perceived as the problem requiring my attention, and the conversation sort of petered out.

Now she's a local TV news producer, in her first professional job out of college. We'll see how far that goes before it leads to "good trouble."

That kid's a force of nature.
