Dropped my ballot off at the township building last week and got a nice email from the county telling me it was timely received. Early mail/drop off voting should be implemented in every state.
I have a ballot curing story. I live in repub controlled Arapahoe county Colo. Prior to the 2018 mids I received my mail-in ballot. It indicated I needed to sign the doc exactly as my name was printed. This included my middle name that I never use. I sign with my middle initial. Swear to gawd I didn't know if Phillip was spelled with one L or two. So, I throw down all three names and my middle is simply spelled, not the distinctive signature I've repeated for decades. Send it in and wonder what the fuck they are going to compare it to. Sure as shit I get a letter 2 months after the election informing me my ballot has been rejected. I assume because of the middle name bullshit. Couldn't help but think this was intentional. They know who's an R or D. For all I know they require more D's than R's to produce their middle name that few use. I've since fixed it but they don't make it easy.
How easy would it be to identify the D's and require only enough of them a middle name to swing an election? I went down to the office and said THIS is my fuckin signature USE IT! I was hot. The driver's license I was required to prove I was me had only my middle initial for example. Issued by the same county. As an honorably discharged United States Marine I take particular umbrage when these fucks deny me my vote. I've earned the right.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) says he expects House Republicans will soon come to a decision on impeaching President Joe Biden, and praised Oversight Chairman Jim Comer’s “methodical” investigation while attacking both impeachments of then-President Donald Trump as a “sham.”
While claiming he has not “predetermined” if President Biden should be impeached, before becoming the speaker Johnson had strongly suggested impeachment was required.
Contrary to Johnson’s remarks on Thursday at his first official weekly press conference, Comer’s investigation has been widely seen as lacking any actual substance or proof of any criminal or impeachable offense, while Democrats impeached Donald Trump for at least one action which he was later indicted on.
I move to declare temporary OT right here because who even cares? (really, I'm busy all afternoon, need to get this off my chest)
A few weeks ago a coworker quit on the spot by creating a new ticket in the project management software with the title
[her name] last day at [the company]
Description in ticket:
This is to inform everyone on this project that I no longer work at [this company]. Great working with you, good luck, hope everything works out great.
And she logged off. This generated an email to everyone on the team. Her boss then went and set the ticket status to "Will Not Do" a few minutes later, sending everyone a second email.
She's my new hero. Mike drop. Baller move. Brilliant. I am in awe.
Also, she was at the center of about 5 incompatible databases and her only job was to create integrations between all of them with sparse to non existent instructions on how to map the incompatible data and clean it all up.
I think it took her maybe 3 weeks to get the lay of the land and then she just noped out. Not sticking around for this train wreck.
she was really good. set everything up, waited for decisions to get made, instructions to deal with the massive pile of horse shit, realized quickly they would never get made, so noped out early.

How many times can a Florida resident vote in Pennsylvania?
Asking for Pancake who wants her voice heard like she's just a quiet wall-flower who doesn't sit in the corner wailing for no reason any time I'm trying to sleep.
Nine times out of ten, they pick the least flattering picture of the Democrats possible - looking overly severe, bad lighting, in the middle of changing expressions, etc. The Republicans get professional headshots.
Mailed my ballot in this week. Straight blue, of course.
Carluccio is a MAGA forced birther fraud.

Will Bunch just wrote a piece on this
Are we really going to let Pa.’s richest man buy a state Supreme Court seat?

I've seen no evidence that Defendant Trump eats his own shit.
Well, he hasn't denied it.
Some people are saying…
I read it on the internet. Must be true.
Come on, home state, LFG!

I've had that problem before too, but not so far as to get my ballot rejected. That's some bullshit, man.

Mail in voting for the win! Sent my ballot in weeks ago.
early voting as well, which i did at my convenience a week ago!
It’s really stressful knowing how every single election the survival of democracy is actually on the line.
I wish all democrats treated every election as that important
Amen.

She sounds brilliant at her job. (No sarcasm)

Ok, that needs to go up the chain now. I'm flexible on the death penalty, but that is definitely cruel and unusual. Correctly done hanging is better.
Nitrogen gas.
How very Zyklon-B of them, the barbaric fucking filth.
Hey you!
Saw this “political victory through persuasion but would rather prevail through perfidy.” and immediately thought of your always astute alliterations
To boldly snuff where no one has snuffed before.
I already votered!
why stop there? keep voting until you get the decision you want! that's the new rule, right?
It's not just voting. One needs explosives and lecterns.
Yay! Imma do it agin!

Kitty has *opinions*!
This is America
She could speak Choctaw if she wanted me to understand her.
If those are the images folks are voting on, she wins in a landslide. McCaffery looks angry and she seems quite kind.
Holy shit, you are not wrong. Hope he’s got some better campaign posters.
Yeah, that's really weird. Surely McCaffery has a professional portrait in his judicial robes?
Yeah, I didn't care for it either.
perhaps the news station is subtly trying to influence voters.
The news station that is owned by an oligarch? I can't believe it! /s

I know it’s wrong to judge a book by its cover, but she looks Cannony.
loose, mostly
Poor Baby Donnie has already promised/bribed Cannon a seat SCOTUS if she keeps him out of jail.
Low caliber.
