"because we are just as capable of producing violent psychopaths as any other country on earth, perhaps even moreso."

Well, now, there's no "perhaps" to it. Our country provides that means to an end like no other country, and DAMN, does it show.

"In actuality, only 10 out of the 4,400 mass shooters in the last decade — 0.22 percent — identified as transgender"

Just like the stats on immigrant crime, this would suggest that transgender people are LESS likely to be mass shooters than the rest of the population, as transgender people are about half of one percent of the population. A THOROUGHLY DEMONIZED half a percent, thanks to Trump and MAGA, who have ALSO accused the undocumented, which at the most generous estimates would make up roughly 4.5% of the population, of somehow committing 100% of the crime.

No wonder Trump loves the "poorly educated"--there are far too many of them, and they're the only ones that fall for his bullshit.

The reference to right wingers not walking back claims after they have been disproved, "they just stop talking about it," reminded me of Rule #11 of my Rules for Right Wingers, which states "When a claim has been debunked, continue to use it nonetheless. When it has been debunked so thoroughly and completely that continuing to use it is counterproductive, stop claiming it for a time, after which assert it again as if the debunking had never happened."

So don't be surprised if you hear the same claim about the same case a bit further down the road.

The American Experiment:

Let’s take a country of about 300,000,000 people. Let’s add a few more guns than that, plus access to bomb materials. Let’s recruit millions of the people into military service and train them in ways to blow up places and people. And to only follow directions from certain leaders.

In any large population, there are bound to be some people who have mental or character issues. Let’s make it so mental health screening and therapy are limited, rationed and expensive.

Let’s make it so schools can’t teach about values, differences or past mistakes unless the teaching comes from one approved set of religious beliefs.

Next, let’s give individuals special media and social media outlets to tell them who’s bad, who’s different and who they need to get rid of.

Start the experiment. What could go wrong?

All accurate. We have the murder Capital of the whole world (and it's not even close). But hey, we have the freedom to be innocently gunned down. So there's that!

And over here we have what we’ll call Exhibit Orange…

Veterans with multiple divorces. Wonder what percentage of mass shooters fill that category. Is Pete Hegseth next?

Hey Oklahoma, how's all that Good Old Timey Christian Religion working out for you? Oklahoma's murder rate just keeps a-rising and a-rising, along with other violent crime. Why, it's as if those Tablets Moses brought down done got broken and crumbled into dust. So yeah, you do you...

But you white menfolk of Oklahoma just aren't satisfied until you do you to other people, and unfortunately your state's so poor you have plenty at your disposal. I wish OK were where the death penalty had gone to die but so far that's the one thing that's going strong: death.

I beg you to stop giving space to Ryan Fucking Walters. He is a non-entity, a nothing, a slimy little nobody with a sticky trail of grift and corruption behind him. He has zero credibility, and nothing he says is of consequence. We will deal with him here, on our home turf (please let it be so). He doesn't deserve one millisecond of the national attention he receives.

Terrorist-blamers being the actual terrorists. Must make gopers heads hurt to think about that. Assuming there is any thinking at all going on in their heads.

If anybody's interested, in an article about the perpetrator's motives the Gateway Pundit comment section has this to say on the matter:

- It was a false flag operation orchestrated by the FBI because pro-Trump manifesto while doing bad thing (very popular)

- The perpetrator was a whistleblower who tried to warn America about drone strikes targeting Trump on Inauguration Day so he had to be eliminated (rare, an Infowars thing)

- He had his heart in the right place, only his methods are not to be condoned (rather rare but not unpopular)

- If he were trans the media would love him, et al. (some fucks)

They're confused.

Oh I think it is terrorism itself. Terrorism is instilling terror through violence for a political purpose: What the GOP does is use violence to instill terror for a political purpose. Every time one of these right wing guys does their bidding and goes out and kills the gays or women or immigrants, it is as if they themselves are doing the murdering.

The NOLA attacker was unequivocally not a psychopath. Not even close. Stop blaming us for the nonsensical actions of crazy people.
