Salient point: Eric Hovde actually lives in California. Now, I know that ‘Coach’ Tommy Tubernuts actually lives in Florida (Santa Rosa Beach), but Alabama is a lost cause anyway.

Why isn’t more of a fuss being made about Eric Hovde’s residence? Unless he has a place in Wisconsin, having bought one, seeing as how he’s a billionaire or some such.

Congratulations to all the GOP Primary election winners. Now, it's on to victory in November.

One small programming note. Whatever you got in the bank or can raise in the interim is what you got. The Party will not be able to provide additional funding for your campaigns.

We gots lawyers to pay.

Oh, AND, turnout in Wisconsin was the highest in a fall primary in 60 years!

Evidently PAB's inability to speak coherently is the Newspeak for his party as well. "how the global affects the local"? "not in a point to vote"? Then again, their supporters won't notice.

I'm happy for Rep. Omar!

Minnesota Democrats also said “give us the antisemitic weirdo” in the primary,"

Pretending our antisemitic weirdos are not weirdos is a good way to get weirdo ascendency in the party, which is what happened to the Rs.

In her concession speech she immediately called Samuels and his supporters "Nazis". She is under investigation for corruption. And then you tell me I am David Brooks for not wanting a corrupt Jew hater to win a Democratic primary.

Because compassion and inclusion.

Heck of a job.

Enjoy this graph. I could quote some FBI stats which show a 300% increase in hate crimes against Jews if you like as well.

But, hey, if the Jew hater is a Dem I must be some freak for opposing a bigot because bigotry against Jews is the cool kind of bigotry.

I don't suppose it's because Samuels was coordinating illegally with a PAC who's members said Zionists should align with the alt-right (you know, Nazis).

She called everyone who voted against her "a nazi" in her concession speech.

She is bigoted hater trash who votes with Republicans more than she votes with Dems.

Oh please. There is zero evidence he coordinated with republicans.

You know hating Jews, like she does and like you do here, does not actually make you a good progressive person.

It makes you hater trash.

White wants to get rid of the global? That's an interesting concept. Also weird.

Supposedly Archimedes said "Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world."

I guess white needs a saw long enough and a leg to stand on and he can cut away the global.

In my ruby-red little corner of CT the MAGA state senate candidate beat the traditional republican candidate, and the less insane republicans are PISSED. So they may stay home in November, and a few may even vote for our incumbent, the fantastic incumbent senator, Mae Flexer. Yay!

Those referenda (I refrained from correcting the grammar of the nice poll workers in my rural township who said referendums) in WI were some serious ratfuckery. The language was so convoluted that I almost considered voting yes for one of them, AND I KNEW AHEAD OF TIME WHAT IT WAS. It was a for a literal concentration of power into one branch of government and it was worded like you were voting to keep the power from being concentrated.

Do they summer in the Hamptons with the Rolls family?

Whut? Lake Whapomatozy in MN not good enough for them?

But as a person on a fixed income, I can see that sometimes your meal budget can get strained.

And if the local titty bar has a $5 lunch buffet with hot plates, hey, who am I to complain?

And if Bruno the Bouncer welcomes you.......Well it is always good to be friends with a bouncer.

How about THIS glorious headline on page 1 of today's Houston Chronicle:

"No evidence of fraud in Harris County's November 2022 election"

The Texas Rangers concluded an investigation into Harris County’s highly scrutinized November 2022 election, finding no evidence that there was an attempt to sway the results, District Attorney Kim Ogg announced Tuesday.

The election, marred by a ballot paper shortage that impacted voters at some polling locations across the county, sparked state legislation and more than 20 lawsuits based partly on Republican claims that county officials had deliberately allocated an insufficient amount of ballot paper to polls in conservative areas in an effort to disenfranchise GOP voters.

“Some have said this (shortage) was directed at one party,” Ogg said Tuesday. “Our investigation has not found that to be so.”

(NOTE: Kim Ogg is a turncoat Democrat who has endorsed Ted Cruz in the 2024 Senate election)

In the 60's I was moderate, left leaning, willing to listen to Rs solutions to problems.

Now I am a Radical, Far Left Extremist, Tree Hugging Commie, Coastal Elite, wanting to burn it all down hippie freak.

Me, I don't think I have changed much. Admittedly I listen a lot less to Rs today.

Political Definitions:

Progressive/Liberal: Someone who wants changes that improve life for everybody.

Conservative: Someone who wants to preserve the status quo.

Reactionary: Someone who want to return to some point in the past.

trump Reactionary: Someone who want to return to some point in the past that only ever existed in their fantasies, in which white men control everything and women, minorities, and the poor know their place and are grateful for it. Guess who they're supposed to be grateful to.

I recently encountered someone on the "far left" on Facebook. They begin to look not too different from the "far right" in their "I can't vote for genocide Biden or Harris, and if another Trump term puts the final nail in this corrupt two party system of ours then good riddance. That's why I'm voting for Jill Stein!"

Interestingly, they usually aren't really far left or even necessarily leftist in a traditional real world understanding of politics. They are liberal, but liberal in the traditional libertarian sense, with a light splash of welfare state where it personally benefits them.

They're 'soapbox performers'...attention seekers. While voting definitely matters, people who try to frame it as some kind of great heroic act are full of shit..Voting/not voting is the EASIEST part of democratic obligations , you don't get a cookie for it..I know it sounds counterintuitive, but view voting as no more of a thing than making a sandwich or taking a shit...The "I REFUSE TO VOTE FOR GENOCIDAL etc etc... are treating their vote withholding as being on par with Joan of Arc as the flames consume her...

And like the trolley car problem, there IS no way to bow out...If you are ELIGIBLE to vote (even if you haven't registered) then you are PART of the election process WHETHER OR NOT you actually cast a vote...That 'not-vote' is LITERALLY part of the talley that will decide between two possible candidates...IOW you don't get to claim the moral high ground by demurring

Sounds as though they've gone so far left that they've met themselves coming back in the other direction.

Incorrect. They are selfish "pick me" brain dead simpletons who need to be "different" to feel like they have any value to their lives. If you can't see the forest for the trees, then I have zero time for you.

My sister is not brain dead simpleton at all, and she's saying the same thing - third party. Her ONLY issues are freeze peach (big Assange fan), getting out of Ukraine and network neutrality with no moderation. I think she's dead wrong and I don't understand these issues being so important to her. But she is an intelligent if misguided person and I love her. We just don't talk about this stuff at all.

Expand full comment

She'd save herself some time by just not bothering to vote at all since her vote will be wasted for all practical purposes.

Rule of Thumb (especially in politics): If you have a choice between voting for two evils, vote for the lesser one. That's the pragmatic thing to do.

I will happily vote for Harris/Walz.

And thus it has been since elections were a thing I'm sure. We have written evidence of such in the writing of Cicero.

Eh, I wouldn't describe the last encounter as brain dead. More of a fascist that didn't want to be called a fascist because she was okay with LGBTQ folks. Even though I had encounters with her on social media on multiple occasions in the past when she was simping for Putin and Assad.

She's not the only one I've run into lately. The ones that will boast about third party platforms, or brag that the Republicans have a platform that doesn't mention gays or abortion so "obviously they're moving left". It's ridiculous, and yes some of them are simpletons, but news flash so is a vast majority of the electorate.

The reason the Republican platform doesn't mention gays or abortion is that clearly outlining their concentration camp plans might make them look bad
