Did he at least get a portion of the money that the supermarket made when his ground hand sold as meat?

Daniel O'Riordan's avatar

Are you kidding me? They had to throw out all that meat because it was contaminated, refund the hunter's fee. He's lucky they didn't take it out of his paycheck.

Kid or not, there's supposed to be a guard on that thing to keep you hand out of it. Kid probably planned it, and is livin' la dolce vita on Lake Como, or Garda, maybe Lugano--one of those now, bought a place w/all that $$.

I don’t know whether to laugh at this as gallows humor or cringe at fucking evil and report it. Either way you’re blocked.

I don't get it. Where does that tiny dollar figure come from?

Was the judge all, "how much you got in your bank account, kid?" and the kid replied, "$1143," so the judge said "double it! You're welcome!"

Was this a criminal trial? Can a civil lawsuit follow? There ain't nearly enough digits in that judgment. I don't care how poor the employer is, he owes any injured coworker more than a fucking car payment.

JFC, this makes me so very angry.

Will no one think of the poor company? Just imagine all the deer meat it had to throw away because this kid's people meat got mixed up in it.

Some people don't have their head screwed on straight out there around Ionia.

So your assumption isn't a given.

Everyone knows the older you are the slower your reflexes get. Considering this most scientific fact. , the young man was obviously too old to operate the machinery.

It's the child's own fault, he should have been born to wealthy parents and this never would have happened

I sure as hell hope he can appeal that ruling because JFC! Republicans would feed children into the hungry maw of a monster if the monster shit money. Which is strange because they tell us every day they're doing their evil because of their love of children.

How this isn’t a national story being shouted about from every pro Labor Democrat is beyond me, yet we have enough time to Trump’s latest temper tantrum. This country has the most fucked up priorities.

So.....no workers' comp? No liability insurance? If the employee were a 45 year old white guy he'd at least have these to rely on.

John_atx's avatar

Forget it Jake. It’s Ionia. The county has voted overwhelmingly Republican since forever. It’s not as bad as parts of the state, but, they basically don’t give two shits.

There's that love for the children Rs are so vocal about and proud of. To be sure, trans people are so much more dangerous and awful than getting parts of your body ground off, or just being killed by industrial equipment you're not even legally old enough to operate.

Sounds like a botched post-natal abortion to me.

insert_something_creative's avatar

They want you to have to be 18 to see a drag show, but not to operate dangerous machinery. Ya know, to "protect the children" and all that. It's so quaint, so Dickensian.

More people need to be out there shouting from the rooftops what fucking trash republicans are and the utter bullshit of everything they say and do.

$1100 for lost hand? You’ve got to be kidding me.

Fuck that judge. This teen's entire life has been permanently changed and this asshole thinks that just one of those things. What a horrible human being.
