Indiana Democrats Successfully Stop Anti-Union Bill By Also Leaving Their State
Gov. Mitch Daniels signaled this afternoon that Republicans should drop the right-to-work bill that has brought the Indiana House to a standstill for two days and imperiled other measures. [...]
Seats on one side of the Indiana House were nearly empty today as House Democrats departed the the state rather than vote on anti-union legislation.
Did they go to Wisconsin? Whatever, THE SYSTEM WORKS! (The system is a broken democracy.) [ Indianapolis Star ]
They just like putting &quot;right&quot; in their law names. Though some are more &quot;right&quot; than others. &quot;Right to Life&quot;, &quot;Right to Work&quot;, <strike>&quot;Right to Vote&quot;</strike>.
Of course the Repubicans, TP&#039;ers and Fux News will say the Demoncrats are running from their responsibilities, not doing their job, subverting democracy, etc. But how is denying a quorum any different than the filibusters Mitch McConnell and the Repubicans have used in the U.S. Senate to prevent votes on Obama&#039;s agenda. Let&#039;s call the quorum tactic a &quot;Wisconsin Filibuster&quot;.
