The first option, OMG! NO BUENO! The second one, been there done that, scared all of the staff plus my husband nearly to death. Following a hysterectomy and after a couple of hours in the recovery area and everything was fine, I started bleeding internally once I got to my room. They caught it because protocol was to check my BP every 15 minutes, and the nurse couldn't find my pulse. When you BP is that low you are very calm, can't even get excited. She ran to get the head nurse all the while I was telling her that I was fine. She and they all saved my life. My poor husband thought I was going to die and he left the room when they gave him that look that means, "You are not needed here right now." Had to wait until there was a surgery room open and they could get my doctor back. He'd just gotten on the freeway when they called him. I was awake for 4 pints, don't know how many after that. They tried to keep me awake and I just wanted to sleep. Wonderful, wonderful nurses.

We have a wonderful vet, because the dogs are always thrilled to learn they are going to the vet. I suspect opium laced dog treats.
