I kind of feel the same way about the Electoral College. There are those who argue that it preserves a residue of racism because of the "3/5 person" thing - but we got rid of that in the 1860s.... and we still have the EC....so how can it be racist today?

A conservative centrist who might be willing to vote for Perdue (because good ol' boy) wouldn't be able to stomach voting for her, since she was an outsider who never ran for state office and they owed her no favors.
