Rethuglicans are the school bully who continues to ambush people in the hallway because even the teachers are afraid of them, so they strut around and harass and beat people impunity.

Fucking cowards.

Surprised that Raiklin guy was able to take time off from his job as the principal always on Marty McFly's ass.

So the flatulent, feeble, fucked up dotard called Jack Smith "a deranged animal". More projection, as usual.

Pope Buck I's avatar

Dump called him "Animal" Jack Smith. Which only makes Smith sound like even more of a badass.

Jack Smith brought indictments.

Michael Fanone brought muscle memory.

Republicans brought… whatever the opposite of shame is.

Me now: “Liberal” media my ass.

Me 10 years ago: “Liberal” media my ass.

Me 20 years ago: “Liberal media my ass.”

And so on, because the media (mainstream media) has never been the “liberal” media.

I was sort of indifferent to the issue, but as I began to pay a bit more attention I did come to grasp what you’ve known for twenty years.

But I know more now.

Not liberal. Not reliable, no matter what liberal hosts the opinion shows.

Hey, Dr Maddow, Mr O’Donnell…

WHERE IS PHIL DONAHUE RIGHT NOW?

They've been singing that song ever since Nixon. Spiro Agnew whined about the press being "nattering nabobs of negativism," and they've been working the refs ever since.

"The rule of law is not self-executing." Jack Smith money quote.

My friend and I tried to determine the demonic rabbit-hole source of one Wisconsin rep's obsessive's questioning on the subject of Marshall Miller. This rep kept referring to Miller as if he were Satan in the flesh and everyone knew it. Neither friend nor I had heard of him. Is this what their Fox News fever dreams conjure? Anonymous villains totally irrelevant to...anything?

Maybe it's time for me to check back in with The Epoch Times.

Pope Buck I's avatar

Maybe he was referring to Marshall Mathers.

I've mentioned this before, but it reminds me of the picture I saw online of a Ukrainian soldier quoted as saying, "We are very lucky they are so fucking stupid."

Discussing Jim-jam Jordan’s bullshit at the hearing would be a great opportunity to mention him being identified in the increasing corroborations of the Sascha Barros Reilly testimony online, but the majority of the left is willing to discuss those allegations yet.

Bless Smith and Fanone and the other J6 officers. I just wish any of this made a bit of difference. But unfortunately the Repugnants are fully committed to the stick fingers in ears “nah nah nah I can’t hear you” style of governance. They also have no intention of ceding power after a fair election ever again so … 😐 … yeah. I got nuthin’.

Some folks who were all up in their feelings about Bad Bunny doing the halftime show, were relieved to find out that a "white band" performing as well.

Friends, it's Green Day.

'I don't know who's booking over at the NFL, but I love them and I owe them a drink.'

And later:

'I play cover music with my band sometimes, and we would always have people in like MAGA gear or back the blue whatever come up and ask for Rage Against the Machine. And they would make comments like "I hate that they became so woke." My brother in Christ ...'

“Democrats have been going after President Trump for 10 years. For a decade. And the country should never, ever forget what they did,” [Jim] Jordan said.

I know, I'm technically tu-quoque-ing myself here, but what if you replaced "Democrats" with "Republicans", and Trump with Hillary, oh, and the one decade with three? Perhaps add that Hillary's case has always been a witch hunt for political reasons whereas Trump's is one of depravity, corruption, and crime?

I'm still bewildered that Trumpers think Gym made an 'in your face" point relative to Smith not immediately disqualifying Cassidy Hutchinson as possible testimony:

Smith: My recollection is that I certainly had not made any final determinations about who we were going to call—

Jordan: And that’s the point. That is the point, the fact that they (the J6 Committee] used her in a prime time hearing, and you won’t rule out using her, didn’t rule out using her, putting her on the witness stand, when everybody knows she wasn’t telling the truth, that says it all. That’s the degree the left and Democrats were willing to go to get President Trump, putting on the witness stand someone everybody knows is making it up.

Whale Chowder's avatar

Wait, who has demonstrated that anything Hutchinson said was a lied?

Cincinnatus's avatar

Good point. Hutchinson said she received it as second-hand "hearsay." Agents in the car would not corroborate, but that doesn't mean they weren't lying. Nor that she was.

Whale Chowder's avatar

There was some discussion at Smith's closed hearing about the admissiblity of Hutchinson's testimony in court but the rules of evidence in an impeachment are different. It's unrelated bafflegab. Also not a lie.

Fanone started out as a Republican, IIRC, and his righteous anger is amplified by that fact, I would imagine.

In any case, people like him easily and frequently turn into an authoritarian regime's worst nightmares.

Like active duty soldiers, actual law enforcement officers calling out lies and abuse is extremely powerful. The DGAF attitude helps, also too.

Bagels of Doom's avatar

Yep. That's why people like Trump like to silence people like Fanone by all means necessary.

From the Politico linky: "Even when a handful of Republicans did question Smith’s case against Trump, they focused largely on whether Trump could be excused for his conduct if he genuinely believed he won the election. “I’ve talked to Donald Trump over a period of time. Donald Trump is 100 percent certain he won that election,” said Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Wis.). “There is zero percent chance that he believes he lost.”

Rep. Laurel Lee (R-Fla.) noted that Trump relied heavily on a team of legal advisers as he worked to reverse the election results and said Smith needed to prove Trump “knowingly” sought to subvert the outcome. Smith repeatedly argued that Trump knew he lost: “He was looking for ways to stay in power. When people told him things that conflicted with staying in power, he rejected them.”

Whale Chowder's avatar

As Smith said, people told him he lost. He lost over 60 court cases. He knew.

What's also true is that he believes whatever he says as soon as he says it. Even if he knows it's a lie. Even if he just made it up. So as of this moment I'm sure he believes he won. But at some point he knew he lost. He even admitted it more than once.

His mental pathology is so f'd up. Even if he knew it one day, his rampant narcissistic mind might have subsequently overruled himself.
