I wish this were true. I think Walz failed to call out his lies, and anyone not keeping up with the fine reporting here and in Abortion Everyday is likely to have been left with the idea that Vance is not so Weird (since Walz so often agreed with him) and that maybe Vance was trying to be more compassionate than Trump.

The scariest thing about the VP Debate is that Vance’s performance did fool at least some people. His approval rating went from, I think 34% to 41%. It might not’ve been that big a jump, but still, any rise after that lie-fest, is worrying and upsetting.

The fact that CBS is a fascist-supporting bunch of cowards, coupled with Walz’s slow and shaky start, is why Vance got that rise. Who knows if a lot of people were even still watching by the time Walz did hit his stride; and Vance may have been lying thru his capped teeth, but he said it smoothly and with confidence, and clearly some people fell for it.

That there was ANYONE in this country, nay this world, that is still undecided after the Republican shit-show over the last…well, 10 years, is beyond anything I can understand. But on CNN, out of seven undecided voters, only one was decided after the debate. He said he was voting for Harris/Walz, which is great, but what about the other six? They claimed they were still undecided, which is scary af.

I just wish Walz had come out hard and fast like Kamala did. I realize he is a totally different person and his style is very different, but I wish someone had prepped him in a way that had him calling out Vance in sharp quips, pointing out his lies quickly, THEN moving on to how he and Kamala are going to do things differently and make life better thru their policies.

There had to be some way to do that, a way to word things where he could do CBS’ fact-checking for them, and still get their positions out too. Because so many of Vance’s lies just went completely unchallenged last night. It makes me sick to my stomach to even think about it. And it also pisses me off to no end.

Exactly right. Too much approval for Walz here to see how much Vance benefited.

The write-ups I've seen of yesterdays debate was all about Vance did this, Vance said that, Vance answered.... As if the whole of the debate was how well the Republican did, with nothing said about Walz. The MSM was all in on Vance.

Hey Catholic hospitals. If you don't want to provide healthcare, don't go into the business of providing healthcare.

It's not just abortions they won't do. They also don't do vasectomies or tubal ligations. And of course they don't provide less permanent birth control.

The closest hospital to us is Catholic, and I'm afraid of one of us being in there and the hospital refusing the pull the plug because of their beliefs.

Such a relief to learn that Wonkette & I actually watched the same debate. I have begun to wonder what the Nyt and all its pundits watched. Seriously.

I’m still hoping I don’t have go read Project 25 though. Can anyone tell me whether it calls for national reporting of killings of citizens by police officers? Cos those statistics seem to be awfully hard to find, and honestly, given that local police are sometimes armed by our federal government, a lot more relevant than statistics about how many abortions are performed in each state.

You know, I've seen a lot of comments about Walz not doing well at the debate. Okay, sure, he's cramming a lot of info into each response and some sentences don't get perfectly finished. But this isn't Debate Club. His closer of "We trust women. We trust doctors." moved me to tears. 'Cause, yeah, that's it, right there. Trust women. Trust doctors.

I think Walz did not do as well in his presentation and delivery. He speaking was a bit strained, and he was not looking directly into the camera, and had an uncomfortable facial expression. Those are strictly 𝘴𝘵𝘺𝘭𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘴. On the issues, it is pretty clear that the Democrat held all the cards, and he played them quite effectively.

Is the childless cat lady and absolute yes or no sort of thing, or is there a spectrum? I have two cats but only one child. If I were American, would I get one full vote, or only half a vote? Maybe one of the cats would cancel out the child completely, so I would be completely voteless? Vance really needs to clarify this.

Nope not at all….. wait he fooled An entire male Focus group They were in love after.

Emphasis on male. Women were creeped out by Vance’s smarmy salesman persona. His true personality showed up in his condescending attitude towards the moderators. He tried to argue and talk over them until they muted his mic when he got angry about being fact-checked. Women have to put up with this type of abusive behavior every day and we recognize it in Vance.

There's something wrong about his eyes. I don't mean the mascara. He looks empty and soulless, which I'm guessing a lot of people and pets pick up on.

The truth is that children are an inconvenience. For some people they are still well worth having, but not for everyone. A person who does not want children should not have them, both for their sake and that of the imaginary child.

This has nothing to do with abortion because children are not fetuses.

Since abortion care is healthcare, then yes, Catholic owned hospitals or any religiously affiliated hospital should be forced to perform abortions without restrictions especially since they buy up the majority of rural hospitals leaving no alternatives for people seeking care. Would they allow a victim of a GSW to bleed out because of some moral hangup about guns? I highly doubt it, so why treat abortion patients differently? Until they can treat every patient the same and give them the care they need to survive, without caveats, then they need to stop putting the hell in healthcare and get out of the business altogether.

GSW? Even without understanding that acronym (which I don’t), 100% in the logic.

Why didn't Walz ask JD when he stopped fucking couches?

After all, if there's no fact checking...

Since veracity was not a criteria for last night's "debate" Walz should have blurted out in the healthcare segment "oh, don't you know, Kamala cured cancer as VP".

‘Abortion tourism’...

(Rubs aching temples...)

That’s... So picturesque a term, really. Are there packages, perhaps? All you can drink mai tais with your procedure?

(... as opposed to, you know, driving several hundred kilometres to an actually 21st century jurisdiction because your own is Gilead, and trying to score an appointment at a heavily booked facility, and hope you make it on time.)

he knew a woman who had an abortion and told him that her life would have been ruined without it because she was in an abusive relationship with the father

This is only a tiny bit of snark. I am actually shocked that he would admit something like this without saying she had an abortion and her life was ruined. or she killed herself.
