"You want your candidate to pop in to some Real America small business, or community center, or sprawling and vigorous orgy, or wherever. "

I love how all of you Wonkette writers drop those little bombs of hilarity in the middle of your stories. They are so unexpected and so appreciated. Thanks, I needed the laugh today.

(although I DID throw up in my mouth a little when I pictured JD Vance at an orgy.)

This all great, but it flies in the face of Trump's still inexplicably high (higher than zero) poll numbers.

I remember when eggs did jump in price to about 5+ dollars a dozen.

It was during the pandemic, though...And it was obviously corporate price gouging. In fact, the price of eggs dropped down to about $3/doz. shortly after Biden gave a speech and called out corporate price gouging...

Where is it that one can sign up for being part of the advance team for the "sprawling and vigorous orgy"?

Asking for a friend.

There are still slots available.

OT: I am not a fan of podcasts, but this is two accomplished funny women debunking PAB's lifetime of lying. Amusing and not anxiety-inducing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICHIObzrKmE&ab_channel=Hysteria

In the orgy scenario, it's really the Assistant Poohbah that you want to be talking to. They're the person organizing the lube stations, making sure the load-bearing fixtures are up to code, auditioning the dancers, booking the catering, that kind of thing.

Grand Poohbah is more of a ceremonial role.

Funny how republicans entirely lose their shit whenever they don't get to just do whatever they want, and then demand an apology. ROFL APOLOGIZE FOR THE DEATH THREATS YOU ASSHOLES

Regret's avatar

This particular moron demands an apology from someone he refuses to take a call from. Typical self-sabotaging rage-baiting numpties.

I would bet money a lot of the "Karens" that went viral were Republican. They act the same way

Maybe the violence and threats is actually the goal? Remember these are terrible, terrible people.

They want folks to know that if you defy The Great (mass) Man you will face consequences

Boscoe's avatar

Whether it's the goal or an unintended side effect, they're clearly okay with it and complicit since you'll notice they NEVER do anything at all to denounce it. To them it's just a political tool. "Hey, it's not OUR fault your little business got destroyed, you shoulda just let us have our way."

Expect more of this behavior when Trump loses.

"Hey, if you didn't want your house to catch fire and burn down, maybe you shouldn't have hung that Pride flag on your porch."

Cat Cafe's avatar

That is SO TRUE, I didn't follow my thought all the way. They're brownshirts. Thugs. And yes, as the commenter below me says, domestic terrorists.

VwllssWndr's avatar

They're domestic terrorists.

counterlife's avatar

They are MAGA Terrorists. And domestic. But we and the lame ass lazy press don't call them MAGA terrorists. That's the name they claim and that terrorist shit is what many of them do, and the ones that don't do, admire. MAGA terrorism. It's what Republicans love.

gene108's avatar

It’s sad the violent threats Republican voters make at the slightest provocation has been normalized.

counterlife's avatar

yeah, imagine if some woke left wingers, who just want everyone to get along and be fair, started making threats of any kind of violence. You don't need to imagine, just remember BLM and all the crazed descriptions of reactions to the violent, state sanctioned (until it wasn't -thanks to the protests and video) murder of George Floyd. Violence in service of ones 'needs' is only normalized for white men who say they are Republicans these days. It used to be the slave owner Democrats. But it is always white men.

I'm no political scientist, pollster, or campaign operative but I'd have thought that the workers at all 43 locations of that restaurant might be reconsidering who they will vote for. Did Republicans discover that death threats are the real way to secure votes? Is this like winning hearts and minds with napalm?

Ward From Cali's avatar

Weird how none of these Republican operations seem to attract anything but incompetent fuck ups, anger bears, camera hounds and grifters. I'm starting to think that they may have a Candidate problem.

Cat Cafe's avatar

They have a brownshirts problem. Only they don't see it as a problem.

It's hovering around five bucks in San Francisco. But everything is overpriced here.

Also, it was four to five by the end of the Bush admin. So nothing new.
